In town for one night and I see a Korean restaurant on Google. Lucky I did because Uncle Cho's is bloody amazing. Great vibe, husband and wife team creating really authentic wholesome food and being super friendly whilst doing it. Kitchen had only been open for 6 weeks when I went there but they already have the makings of a great restaurant.
I ordered vegetable dumplings which were served super quick and absolutely hit that entree craving. But the star was the bibimbap. I had ordered extra gochujang, which the owners were more than happy to provide. The chef even came out later with a bottle to offer me more and ask how the meal was! Such great service.
There's a small selection of korean groceries too (I couldn't go past some shrimp crackers) and I've been told a liquor license is on the way. A Kloud or Cass would have paired a treat. Expect some smoke from the kbbq too, but for me that just adds to the ambiance.
I really wish this little restaurant all the best! I feel so lucky to have gotten a seat (it was booked out but one cancelled) and I look forward to coming...

To start with, there was a long wait—over 40 minutes—for the food to arrive, despite the restaurant not appearing to be overly busy or understaffed. Our meals arrived at different times, and when my partner’s meal arrived, it was not what he ordered, although the waitress assured us that it was.
When the correct meal finally arrived, the man who brought it out (who I assume was the owner) tried to laugh the mistake off rather than apologize. To make matters worse, the dish—which was supposed to be doenjang (soybean) stew—seemed to have no doenjang whatsoever, making it tasteless and similar to the dish that was made in error but with a few veggies added.
I found this dining experience extremely disappointing.
Finally, it’s quite sad to see a fake review (Madeline Homes) from one of their staff members attacking me rather than apologizing for the poor experience and pledging to do...

We shared the Korean BBQfeast and had to roll out the door we were so full and satisfied. The quality of the food was excellent.
Ambience-wise, there was moderate level noise - enough to enjoy the energy and buzz whilst still being able to have normal conversation.
The decor is totally unique - suffice to say you’ll need to visit to understand. Uncle Cho’s offers a discount for service personnel including St John ambulance, WA police, and the Australian Defence Force.
It was refreshing to dine in a local restaurant which pays homage to the fusion of multiculturalism and Australian patriotism, without trying to woke-signal a value system...
