Pretty rough experience here Sunday 12pm. Went in for a lunch and a couple drinks each, the 4 different plates food came out before the drinks (two beers, one was a pint and one was a bottle and what was meant to be 2 sodas) which for a mix of warm and cold items is poor form for any hospitality venue. This being said the warm components were barely re-heated at best and the caeser should just be taken off the menu if that’s what’s being served.
Back to the drinks, there was a bit of confusion on our end on how the order of the two sodas came through as it was put in to look like one serve of the two mixed instead of two separate small glasses. When this was clarified the staff member said we would have to re-order it separately, thinking that’s a bit much effort for one soda, however owning up to the mistake, I reasonably asked if it could just be comped since the food has come out before the drinks.
Aside from the obvious reasons, asking for a nearly $5 serve for a regular glass of post-mix pepsi to be comped isn’t an unreasonable request considering the cost of a bib and how much they break down to per serve ($1-ish a serve maybe if we’re even to account for gas to fizz the soda, that’s just from my experience managing venues and their costings!)
Instead of just saying “no sorry we can’t do that” which would’ve been met with an ‘ah dang fair enough’ the staff member asked “when did you order it?” - I pulled up the confirmation email and it was over 15 minutes prior. She then said “yeah well it takes 7 minutes for the order to reach our system” she must’ve seen that my partner and I were a bit taken aback at how passive aggressive her escalation was because she then half-backtracked and said that it would be while she was walking away - but we never got it, which I was expecting to be the case anyway.
A really weirdly cagey way to behave about a soda that you would think the recipe was being written for with how defensive she became, but I hope her day got better at some point because something must’ve been going on.
The me&u program can have notifications added to advise folks of things such as this which they have to confirm to order, again said as someone with experience working with the program and their reps, – in future this might help mitigate things like this and actually provide the patrons spending a silly amount of money for what they get with their...

Since moving to Victoria Park in August 2022, my husband and I have been lucky enough to live near one of the best spots in town, The Vic Park Hotel. From the delicious pub meals to the stunning beer garden reno and the family-friendly playground, it’s been our go-to for good food, good vibes, and great company.
But what truly makes The Vic Park special is Casey, the incredible Supervisor Manager of the bar. Over the years, she’s become more than just a familiar face, she’s become a true friend. Always smiling, always welcoming, always working hard, Casey is the heartbeat of the venue.
She makes the best cocktails, is the best waitress, and honestly, the best of everything. Her energy, warmth, and dedication are unmatched. Every time we see her, or she sees us, she gives us a wave and comes over for a chat, or we go to her. That connection is something truly special.
Casey is also incredibly supportive and always helpful when it comes to looking after her staff. Her care and dedication to her team are evident in the way she leads with kindness, respect, and encouragement. She creates a positive and uplifting environment that makes The Vic Park not only a great place for patrons, but also a wonderful place to work.
Whether you're a regular or it's your first visit, Casey will greet you with warmth and genuine care. In the heart of Victoria Park and East Victoria Park, if you’re ever nearby, please go and say hello, she’ll always welcome you with open arms and a big smile.
Casey, you’re the BEST. Thank you for being our Vic Park friend. We...
Read moreThis venue is hostile to parents with prams and people who need accessible spaces. Staff were unresponsive and refused all requests to fix the issue.
My friend booked a section of the beer garden for her 40th birthday. She chose this section as it was close to the playground and it was accessible via a ramp. When we arrived she found that the ramp was blocked with gas bottles, christmas trees, chairs, tables and decorations for Vic Park Hotel's Christmas in July. Her function ended at 4pm and the Christmas in July started at 6pm, so there was no good reason for these items to be stored in her booked section, or on the ramp, as there was plenty of time to set up for the evening event.
My friend asked the staff member assigned to her function, and other staff, to move the items but they repeatedly refused. The guests at the party included parents with babies in strollers and me - with a severely injured foot. We all had to walk down the short flight of stairs, all the way through the main beer garden, then up a longer flight of stairs, every time we needed to access the playground. It was stressful for the parents with babies, and extremely painful for me.
When staff came to clear away after my friend's function finished I mentioned it to them and they said "well you should have told us it was a problem". When I said that my friend did tell multiple staff they just shrugged. I know my friend was frustrated and disappointed that this occurred and other guests were stressed and inconvenienced. And my foot now...
