Went pokies there the other night, popped my ticket in one of the machines and no amount came up, went straight to the person who was on duty that night and was told she cant check the cameras. Went there the next day, spoke to the manager, he checked the camera, came to me and gave me a BS story, so i then asked to go see the footage with him, bt what happened was he increased the motion speed of the video so thats why he ddnt see when i popped the ticket in, bt still came and insisted that i was wrong.
The lady that was on duty gave me a different story and the amount of the money she said was totally different from the first ticket i popped in, lol
Went there again and was told the same story; and now theyre claiming that the ticket i popped in was cents, lol, and still no proof.
They made up all sorts of different excuses telling me i went to the other machines and the other machine, blah blah blah, and they still cant show me nothing.
The service is poor when it comes to the pokie side, they just turn you away without even looking into it properly.
Would never go back there and would recomment to take a photo of the ticket before you put it in the machines and make sure they see you clearly when putting the ticket in the machines cause it was a nightmare trying to explain this to the staff. They dont listen and investigate properly, they cant trace your ticket if it gets lost/jam inside the machine.
Thank you Elgin's Hotel Wodonga for telling me not to trust pokies especially you guys as a place to hangout, stay or...
Read moreMeals were lovely and good size, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However I feel that perhaps 1 more staff member might have been required. The lady who greeted us and seated us, was also the person who served us and that clearly was stressing her out. We had received all but 1 of our meals, which seemed to cause her some confusion, but when she realised, she told us it would be cooked straight away. When it was ready to be bought to us, she was half way to the table, but suddenly put it back at the servery, while she greeted more patrons lining up to come in. When we realised that the meal wasn't coming over and she was too busy, my mother thought she'd go get it, as we had all nearly finished our meals. But the lady said she would bring it over instead. Unfortunately being a senior mum couldn't finish the meal, so we asked another lady that was serving on the table behind us, if we could take it away and she was totally lovely and said of course. Unfortunately when the lady that was serving us, did bring over the takeaway box, she just dropped it on the table and walked away, clearly she was somewhat overwhelmed. Having 3 people at the table that have worked in hospitality, we do understand, but it's still not quite the service we have had on other visits to Elgins...
Read moreSadly unless you really have no other option I wouldn’t eat here. Hideously overpriced for was served up, we ordered two Rib Eye steaks and an entree calamari and dropped $130 in the process. I wouldn’t mind if the food was edible, but my glorious fat juicy Rib Eye expectations were met with terrible disappointment when what looked more like a broiled thinly cut chop was served with a terrible excuse for ‘mushroom gravy’ and tasteless broiled veggies. The broccoli was el-dente I’ll give them that - but just tasteless. The steak was so thin and nothing like a normal $50 Rib Eye. Friday night and the place was a ghost town. Had to ask for cutlery. No salt and pepper on the table, then it was empty, the list goes on. The ‘spicy calamari’ was cooked nicely, but again it looked terrible and the flavour profile was all wrong, almost like it was covered in cinnamon? Just run with a quality Salt and Pepper calamari and get it right I say. We’re visiting for the long weekend but this means we’ll have to try real hard elsewhere...
