Visited the Collegians club with some work colleagues for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Getting into the venue is a pleasant experience with friendly staff ready to help you with covid QR compliance and signing into the club. The club is your usual mix of pokies, bars and restaurants and has a pleasant enough ambiance and vibe. The bar had some lovely beers on tap including a really nice local south coast pale ale and an IPA from Canberra. We grabbed a meal from the main upstairs dining area ‘Kitchen on Charlotte’. The options were pretty good and included your usual pub fare with some more refined options. I had the Ham topped Chicken Parmigiana with veggies and mash potato. It was a decent enough meal and a HUGE serving!! My colleagues all had generous servings and all enjoyed their meals. A nice place for a good meal and great value for money if you grab their daily specials. All the staff were lovely and very friendly, especially at the bar 😀. Thanks 🙏

Fantastic Food. Read the reviews before going and was still a little apprehensive around what the club would look like let alone what the Food would taste like. Result? This has to be the best family friendly yet caters for all venue in the gong. There's a choice of fresh seafood be it individual meals or classics like fish and chips (done several ways) or seafood platters to share. There's also a stakehouse and woodfire pizza dining area located downstairs or a more open and modern Australian - modern bistro area upstairs as well. The lighting and decor is modern and the bar and staff and service all round is very friendly and accommodating. Food is just awesome. Usual pokie area and sports bar for those who fancy a punt or drink with friends. Overall hard to go past and absolutely worth a visit. Value for money and top experience.

This place is very VERY big. When we visited it was extremely empty though so there was no possibility of us getting lost. The bar staff and particularly those on the front door are very helpful and kind. Prices of drinks are standard for the clubs in the area. Nice list of cocktails and they're more than happy to help if you have a drink request that's not on the menu. Plenty of parking just outside. The gaming area is actually quite impressive with their selection of machines. Not just standard pokies but also have electronic blackjack and roulette tables.

Your club inside environment & restaurants are pretty spot on... but that's not the issue. Your car park & lack of responsibility & security for it is. I'm a member, & as you know I have already reported a criminal offence to NSW Police, of two of your female members tipping my motorbike over in the front carpark of your club (in veiw of main highway). You claim that you have no security cameras in this area where offence committed by these two well-known regular patrons of yours, & club policy is you park vehicle on club grounds at your own risk. So no duty of care taken for members or their property, even when unwarranted threats were made inside of intent to commit this offence against my property. I was even threatened with being glassed by one of these members in question. 1 security guard on the floor in particular was helpful, witnessed the altercation & antagonism of 2 parties; it's a shame he didn't witness the threat too tip over my bike by female patron in question... although they are well known to him as regulars (I can't mention his name, the club would likely punish him if they lost revenue from the two female patrons involved in damaging by motorbike). There's clearly security footage of inside altercations, & threats made against me & my property/bike too, although the Wollongong LAC claim they have difficulty identifying members (yes you heard right, difficulty identifying members... of the club, withholding information, security footage to protect pokie revenue), & can't find any security footage of the offence?! It had taken 3 good Samaritan patrons of the club, to pick up/right my bike & 1 to notify me which is commendable.. so where in the hell was club duty to looking after it's members & patrons?! Non-existent, it's a discouragement to join up to the club, which has earned it's poor reputation & continues to do so. I do not recommend any visitors, from outside the area, uow or international visit this club; which is a shame for your restaurant contractors. I can't recommend renewal of membership for those inside the 5 mile radius either... your safety & security of property is not a priority in your membership. Collegians used to be a great Wollongong institution... now it's an institution for attracting undesirables, & a continued bad reputation. No wonder clubs, especially in this area have trouble attracting new membership, if Collegian's example is anything to go by, enforced membership within the 5 mile radius is the only way... but I'd steer away from this one, there are plenty more reputable clubs worthy of...

Went to the factory for dinner last week with the family of 10 people split via 4 orders, all orders were made consecutively and 2 included entree’s.

1 set of entrees arrived as expected, however the 2 second set was nowhere to be seen. As the first set of Entrees were close to being finished the Table started to receive mains except the one couple who were waiting on the entrees still. As we hadn’t received the second entrees (or the mains for that couple) we went up and asked about delay. The young cashier asked the chef in which we were given the reply of I told you it would be a 30 minute wait, then the cashier stated it will be ready in 10 minutes.

We were never told that there was going to be a 30 minute wait or any wait time when we ordered. Being only Sour dough with garlic honey butter & sour dough with chorizo and olives, It really should of not taken that long compared to another couples order of a platter that had arrived before hand. Some time went by and by the time the entrees were ready the remaining of the tables mains were ready. (all except the couple waiting on their entrees/mains)

We continued to wait until everyone else had finished eating their mains as the remaining 2 mains were still not ready . By this stage my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the experience we went and asked for a refund on main meals which we were still waiting, when my husband went up he noticed that our mains were sitting on the counter and we hadn’t been buzzed (were told they had just been become ready). We also noticed that the group of people that ordered their meals after ours (around the time the Second Entrees were ready) got there mains before our last ours. There had obviously been an issue with the order as to why everyone else had received entrees and mains before the last remaining 2, however we were only given a very dissatisfactory response of "Well its good for them they got theirs early".

The service from the young cashier (Blake) was absolutely disgusting, he shouldn’t be working in hospitality or in customer service the way he chooses to speak to customers using the language , tone and mannerism he does. It would also be a positive change if he would not speak under his breath to himself or his colleagues whilst the customer is a walking away.

Overall, we will not be back. Our Family, will not be back and we would Advise anyone thinking of attending the...

What a disgusting venue!!! Went for dinner this evening sat downstairs (table of 10) my 5 year old daughter just wanted a bowl of fries/chips went to order could not be accommodated , asked if they could check with the chef and all he could do was shake his head no… so I ordered a kids “steak n chips” no steak … this could not be accommodated. Proceeded to order daily special which was BBQ octopus - was then advised that no entrees were available, so I then tried to order a main - they then advised there’ was no octopus… tried ordering a garlic pizza, again no entrees to be served. Went to order basic pizzas to get us by. Something shorted out the pizza oven and was quite a commotion going on but then took 45mins to inform us of no pizzas were available and they offered a refund. We later found out from another patron that nuggets and chips were available upstairs … at least my 5 year old was satisfied even though she had to wait over an hour…. Look I’m actually boring myself typing this. The chef downstairs needs to give himself an upper cut after a number of audible meltdowns and frequent vanishing acts into the lift behind the kitchen - this was amusing to a number of patrons - mind you there was only 6 tables seated. I think the collegians leadership team need to reevaluate their position in the company and reconsider who their exec, sous and the remaining chefs and kitchen staff earning $80-$120k to at least care about their role, food and service provided. 2 steaks were finally ordered 1being cooked medium and another well done when asked which one was which the chef shrugged his shoulders and walked off…Perhaps providing a tray for more than 3 plates for people seated downstairs when collecting meals from upstairs… I feel that the collegian trust should focus less on acquiring new venues and fix the ones they currently have. BTW if you want to have a good laugh checkout the footage of the chef downstairs using a flamethrower to cook steaks melt down (approx 7pm Thurs 30th November). Will never set foot in that club again would much rather go to the builders or fraternity any day...
