In Loving Memory of Squirtle: A Beloved Companion and Resilient Friend
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Squirtle, a cherished member of the Kev Dawg family. Squirtle's untimely departure is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the profound bonds that exist between humans and their beloved pets.
Squirtle was a charismatic and enduring pet turtle. From the very beginning, Squirtle captivated our hearts with his endearing, gentle nature and calm demeanor. His striking appearance, with a shell that glistened like polished jade, made him stand out among his reptilian peers. Over the years, Squirtle became more than just a pet; he became a treasured family member and a loyal companion. He was a chick-magnet and lady killer. Ironically, in the end, it was a lady that instead killed him.
Squirtle's life was a testament to resilience and adaptability. He navigated the serene waters of his aquatic abode with grace and composure. His tiny flippers propelled him with determination, and his inquisitive nature often led him to explore every nook and cranny of his tank. It was a joy to watch him bask in the warm, inviting glow of his basking spot, a symbol of contentment that radiated throughout our home.
Sadly, Squirtle's life was tragically cut short due to a careless act that serves as a stark reminder of the importance of pet safety. On that fateful day, while attempting to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, an unintentional mistake occurred. Squirtle's tank, the sanctuary he called home, was inadvertently cleaned with bleach-contaminated hands. The tragic consequences of this unfortunate error are a stark reminder of the delicate nature of our animal companions and the importance of handling household chemicals with the utmost care.
Though Squirtle's time with us was far too brief, the impact he had on our lives was immeasurable. He taught us valuable lessons about responsibility, love, and the significance of the bonds we form with our pets. We will forever remember his calm and unassuming presence, the way he brightened our lives with his simple existence, and the joy he brought to each day.
Squirtle is survived by a family who loved him deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. While we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the great turtle tank in the sky, swimming peacefully under an eternal sunbeam.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Save the Turtles in Squirtle's memory. These contributions will help other animals in need and serve as a fitting tribute to our beloved Squirtle.
Squirtle, you may have left this world, but you will never leave our hearts. Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be forever missed and...
Read moreI get the impression the owner must've put a lot of effort involving community into this place, one of the few venues that support live music and allows bands. Tonight (11th June 2023) some folks put up an art installation which wasn't my taste but that's okay- it's nice to see someone allowing the community to have a go in these difficult times.
With loads of historical pictures and artifacts on the walls, there's an easygoing ambience of yesteryear. Whether or not they put on the log fire during winter or they have the aircon cooling everyone in summer, it seems they're very focused on patron comfort and it seems to be working as the patrons range in age from the young all the way up to silver foxes and in between.
I go here mostly for poker, it's one of the friendlier games in the Illawarra no matter which day or night i play, and the bistro must've changed management since most of the other reviews as the chicken schnitzel i received was fantastic taste and value, and i hear other players raving about the schnitzels and pies a LOT.
Shoutout to the bartender's, they're kind and every so-often will ask if everyone's okay just to check if you're happy and well, or if they can help with anything. There's also special protocols in place for women who may be needing extra help.
Someone commented that the floors are sticky. Absolute rubbish! The place is clean. It's not modern, this place has gone for an atmosphere of "historic character", but it's NOT dirty.
I've been here alone during the day and at night It's always buzzing along nicely. It's not your modern trendy venue where the beers are yuppy priced, this place is down to earth and fair dinkum. Put ego aside and have a...
