Sneaky Burger Wollongong — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

I am appalled by the lack of care and professionalism from this place. While waiting for my order for about 20 mins, I saw almost all the people who arrived before and after me being served. One burger + chips was sitting on the counter for many minutes without an owner. I have checked its number #224, mine #227... Hence, "not mine". Eventually, another box was put on top of it and someone got it... The guy who got it returned to the counter "touching and opening the burger with his hands", asking to return that burger. The girl over the counter seemed confused and the customer's friend, trying to convey a point, did the same, touched the bun and opened it. Finally, the sneaky burger staff did the same, opened and inspected that burger, returning it to the window tray. She followed by switching the customer's burger and dropped that now "overly touched" one into another pack with chips and handed it to me... I refused it for obvious reasons, as I have witnessed it all... I have waited for another 10 minutes just to see her slide the same burger inside a new pack of fresh chips... I explained to her I had refused the burger, not the chips, but unfortunately, she tried to convince me it was a newly made burger... At that moment, I also joined the fun and touched the burger to confirm it was cold... Asked for a refund... Ordered three combos on a Saturday afternoon - off peak when no game is scheduled at the WIN stadium.

The floors are slippery and greasy which is a big hazard. Someone will inevitiably fall and injure themself.

I've been to service station bathrooms cleaner than these. The toilet paper dispenser was empty, so I had to go to the next cubicle to take some extra rolls. Honesty, I felt more dirty after washing my hands and exiting the toilet facilities. It's not the fault of other patrons, but the neglect of cleanliness and maintenance by the staff. Keep in mind, this is outside peak, and there are no games scheduled.

The surface of the indoor seating is unpleasantly sticky. The tables are unwiped, and there is residue of the previous patron's food. The amount of mess on the table isn't from a careless patron, but the accumulated mess of different groups of people eating their meals.

We ordered three burger meals: Despite picking them up immediately from the staff to dine in, the burgers were cold. One of the burgers was advertised to have a double patty and maple bacon. It had only a single patty and there was no maple flavouring. The fries are well seasoned otherwise.

I'm not sure if the cleanliness of the restaurant is due to understaffing, but the experience and quality of food is off putting enough...

The most frustratingly delicious burger I've ever had.

Sneaky Burger was a disappointing meal for me, only because so much about Sneaky Burger is SO good and it's almost the best burger in New South Wales except it's let down by one crucial element. Let's start with the patty, they do a smashed patty and its perfection, the best I've had in Australia. All the fillings of the burger, the lettuce, the tomato, the onion were perfect and exactly as they should be.

The disappointing part is the bun. A milk bun is a solid choice for a burger, but in Sneaky Burgers case, whatever buns they are using are just too thin and soft to decently hold the burger together, they soak up the juice/sauce so fast they become uncomfortable and difficult to hold and they just don't let you get that correct bread/meat/sauce ratio in your mouth.

The sides at Sneaky Burger were excellent.

If not for that bun, I think I would be raving here about the best burger in NSW, instead, sadly, I'm giving in a 3 out of 5, and I'm just sad that it's not better.
