Had lunch today and also ordered some takeaway. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Onion Rava Masala Dosa – floppy, messy, and served in pieces. Not sure why this is on the menu in that condition. Vada & Sambar – this was the only item that tasted decent. Chutneys – none of the chutneys were good. A simple, well-made chutney could have lifted the meal, but these only made the dosa worse. Takeaway Chilli Chicken – dry, clearly pre-cooked and just mixed/packed. Hyderabad Biryani – overwhelmed with cardamom, not enjoyable. Mirchi Ka Salan – menu photo showed fresh bajji chilli, but the dish only had some ground paste (similar to the chutney). Couldn’t eat it, ended up in the bin. Kadai Paneer – total disappointment. Sambar Vadai – not authentic; the sambar did not soak into the vadai, leaving it dry. Andhra Puri with Aloo Masala – another let-down. Overall, the quality of food was poor. The location and ambiance are good, but that alone cannot make up for the taste and preparation. For a restaurant specializing in South Indian food, it was surprising how badly the staples (dosa, chutney, vada, sambar) were done. Will not be visiting again.

If you've never had a Dosa before, I'd highly recommend giving it a try! A dosa (or dosai) is a thin pancake made from a batter of ground lentils and rice, formed into a large, crispy tube. It comes with various, tasty condiments and different fillings. They're fun to eat and go great with a beer or crisp white wine! 😋👌 The dishes we had were all tasty and nicely presented. It's also good to note that they've finally reopened for Lunches: 11am-3pm (this had stopped during the worst of COVID). And I'm hoping they'll also bring back the Lunch Specials too? Since getting a new chef they now also do Indo Chinese Rice & Noodle dishes... So there's going to be something for everyone to enjoy! 😋👍 Although you'd be lucky to get parking directly out front, there's plenty of parking in 2 council car parks just down the road. So if you fancy trying something a little different for a change... dive into a tasty dosa! 😉👍

Do not go by the previous reviews. Not sure if the management/owners have changed. Visited the restaurant after seeing the previous reviews and the pictures specially for dosa. Had a really bad experience. 1. The waiter who took the order, forgot what we ordered. 2. The menu describes what lemon lime and bitters is. Which portrays that lemon lime bitters would be made but we were just served bottled LLB in a glass. 3. We ordered pain puri. Taste wise it was alright but they serve 8 large puris but the pani was just served in a shot glass. 4. The paneer 65 was NOT paneer 65. We could taste raw yogurt, I’m not sure why. 5. The dosa was not up to the mark too and the size was terrible. And unlike other pictures with different chutneys we were just served with the white chutney and sambar. The restaurant had a good ambience. But, overall experience was terrible.

I attended this venue tonight - I will never attend this Indian restaurant again nor will I recommend anyone to attend this venue.

The price for the dishes is not worth the value as this business conveys unethical level of service and poor food quality

I encountered incompetent staff with No hospitality/ customer service training .When asked a question about menu I was advised I don’t know know .There was No initiative enacted by the young female staff member to find out what went in the dish and her response was just to pick one. Once the dish finally arrived 15minutes after the other main butter chicken dish did, the vegetarian noodles was inedible due to high spice content. I spoke to the young female staff member and advised her the dish is inedible due to being very spicy from the level of chilli used in the dish. She took the dish away and I did not order a replacement as I was now dissatisfied with the service and quality of food

When it came time to pay and was questioned on the quality of the meal, I advised I was not happy with the meal. I advised the staff the dish was Indo Chinese and it was so spicy.

The female staff responded all the dishes are south Indian not Indonesian.

The female staff member stated we should have told the chef not to make it spicy. The item ingredients listed on the menu does not indicate the level of chilli content. As this dish I received included a significant level of chilli

(The vegetarian noodle dish is listed under Indo-Chinese category on the menu- see attached photo evidence of your menu)

The staff responded unprofessionally and in an inappropriate customer service like manner in which she could not handle the constructive criticism being provided to her.

The female staff member advised i would get a 5% discount as i was still made pay for an inedible dish that I returned within minutes after receiving it.

I was also advised the final price was going to be $51 and I was charged $57.95.

your staff need to learn how to calculate as it is deceiving. I would never recommend this venue to anyone.Poor service poor food quality. Extremely disappointing.

Do not ask customers how meal is if you can not handle the constructive feedback provided. Wait staff wanted to argue that the dish was not indo and it was south indian . Dish is specified indo chinese on the menu...

Yesterday Night after long wait we went to dine in to Dosa hut, ambience was impressive and to see only one waiter struggling to attend the customers, order was taken and a bottle of water was served and no trace of him until an hour. we ordered just three items chilly paneer as entre item, veg noodles, paneer dosa. Dosa arrived after 30 mnts of wait where we were expecting chilly paneer. the condiments of chutneys were served in such tiny bowels, we can hardly dip in as the depth of bowl was ridiculous. when we asked for extra chutney as that chutney served was not enough, no body attended, i had to go into kitchen to ask. Paneer dosa was ridiculously small and paneer was cooked overloaded with whole masala which was really putting off the dosa taste and masalas stuck in teeth. next disaster is another 30 mnts wait until our hunger died. the veggies used in the noodles were off Coles mixed veggie frozen packet which are of cube sized, we always are familiar to eat shredded veggies in a Chinese noodles. this shows how the under preparation for the dishes there. the taste was ridiculous, i felt a 10 yr old can make better noodles than what we ate there. there is something called misc-en-place, which prepreparation of vegetables which is lacking there. portion was so little that two spoons serve is what we got. chilly paneer portion was good. but the dish has to change its name to masala paneer. there is no chinese element there. the cooks are unprofessional, looks like some students are hired who need jobs and learning to cook. total waste of time and money. i would say these restaurants liscence should be taken off where they are not professionally ready to serve the food.

if you want another bottle of water , then good luck , you will not see the waiter again. most unprofessional and understaffed , untrained staff working in this good looking restaurant. which can trick you. its only for whites who cannot determine the indian dishes tastes. an asian will certainly get...

I went here last night with a small group of friends. We commented on it being a bit chilly outside, when we got in the restaurant it was even colder. People had their jackets and scarves on it was that cold inside.

We ordered drinks and my friends didn't arrive. We ordered more drinks and reminded the waiter about my friends drink to which he replied "yea two minutes". Our next round of drinks come out without my friends non complicated lemon lime bitters. By this point it had been 35 minutes. The restaurant wasn't packed or anything. So we had to request my friends drink for a third time then it finally came.

I think as an improvement they should give the option of how spicey the food will be like most curry houses do. I enjoy spicey food a lot but it was just on the edge of uncomfortable to eat. The quality and the flavours were so good though!!!

We didn't have enough cutlery and they hadn't brought any out so we had to ask for that, then they asked if we wanted plates?! I understand in some cultures that might not be common to use plates but when you have shared dishes of rice and a bowl either curry in you really next a clear plate to mix the two. Also when paying the waiter just said very bluntly "yea". No common courtesy, how was your food? Nothing. When you dine out it's meant to be a whole experience but if the staff are miserable it puts a damper on everything then you throw in all the other issues, I won't be wasting my time or money there again. Plenty of other restaurants in Wollongong with...
