Vapiano — Restaurant in Graz

If I could give 3 1/2 Stars I would do that; however, half stars are not a possibility with this app. I will make this review brief because I didn't take any photos of my food or the exterior or interior of the establishment.

On the whole, my experience was fairly pleasant. I definitely enjoyed the very beautiful and modern decor! That was the best part about the experience for me. The ordering of one's food from the menu on the kiosks, followed by the usage of the little handheld, electrical devices, was a little complex and clunky for my taste. It was not 100% user-friendly, but I did figure it out! To be clear: That was not a complaint. It was more an observation or recommendation.

The restaurant was very neat and clean. I can confirm that both the interior and exterior of the restaurant were top-notch. I didn't visit the men's restroom, and I therefore could not give them one star for having a clean men's restroom. Presumably, if the men's restroom was reflective of the interior and exterior of the restaurant, then I trust it was also clean.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spaghetti meal, 100%, that I was served. For me, the pasta was a bit thick and dense. Perhaps it's because the pasta is homemade? I did request capellini pasta; however, since the pasta is pre-made, they didn't have any thinner pasta. I really think that if I had had much thinner pasta, I might have enjoyed it more.

Likewise, I ordered a pomegranate Spritz type of drink. If it was not pomegranate, it was peach or some other type of fruit. Once again: I did not enjoy that drink, either. I understand from the locals that they enjoy drinks of that nature that have a minty kick to them. It wasn't for me.

There are certainly some mixed reviews of this restaurant. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who is not in love with this place. Would I visit this place again in the future? That remains to be seen. Perhaps if they Incorporated another type of spaghetti pasta, that might be arranged. Otherwise, I can confidently say the answer would be an easy no. I would still encourage you to visit it because you might enjoy pasta of...

We came for the vegan options (at leat 15 explicitly marked dishes wich is absolutely great), and ordered a vegan pizza tonno. Sadly we got surprised by real tuna topping, which was not communicated. We returned the pizza and opted for another dish without further distress, even though the cook didn't seam too bothered by the fact that he served us real meat instead of the alternative.

The other vegan food was great and can be recommended. While paying, the manager was really understanding and cancelled the item from the bill which was returned without any hesitation and apologized multiple times. He explained that the tuna alternative was not being delivered for 3 weeks and that mistakes simply are not okay.

Anyways, the service the manger, as well as the other dishes were great but if you've got any food allergies(!), dietary restrictions or choices, make sure you're being served what you expect since they might just substitute something...

Entgegen meinem über die letzten Jahre gesammelten Wissen bezüglich der Unfähigkeiten des Vapiano Personals in Wien, entschlossen wir uns, dem Vapiano in Graz eine Chance zu geben - ein grober Fehler, der diesen eigentlich sehr schönen Urlaubs-Samstag aus nervlicher Sicht überschattet. Zu den Fakten vom 13.5.2023 ca. 18 Uhr: Wir bestellen eine vegane Salami Pizza mit extra Mais & Oliven und eine vegane, glutenfreie Pizza Verdure. Ich habe mindestens und ohne Übertreibung 6 oder 7 Mal wiederholt "vegan+glutenfrei"! Als dann der Beeper zur Abholung vibriert, kann ich meinen Augen nicht glauben: Ich sehe eine Verdure Pizza und eine Funghi. Daher frage ich, wo die Salami Pizza ist und ob die Verdure vegan ist, weil der Käse schon sehr verdächtig aussieht. Als Antwort bekomme ich, dass ich offenbar !!! "falsch bestellt" !!! habe, aber die Verdure vegan sei. Mais & Oliven waren lustigerweise auf der Funghi drauf, aber was hilft es, die Pizza ist nicht vegan. Die Kollegen (zu dritt wohlgemerkt!) versprechen mir eine vegane Salami. Wir gehen also mit der "veganen" glutenfreien Verdure zu Tisch, meine Frau sticht mit der Gabel in den Käse und zieht einen 20 cm langen Faden. Ich sage ihr sofort, dass der Käse nicht vegan sein kann, aber skeptisch wie wir sind, probieren wir beide ein Stückchen davon - definitiv Mozzarella aus Tierqual. Ich gehe nochmal zum Tresen und frage, ob die Pizza sicher vegan ist. Der Kollege sieht sich den Kassenbon kurz an - NEIN, die ist nur glutenfrei! Also durften wir auch diese Pizza nochmal neu bestellen und meine Salami wurde in der Zwischenzeit kalt. Als Draufgabe wird man dann noch blöd ausgelacht, niemand entschuldigt sich und ein Rabatt für die Umstände wird auch nicht angeboten. Der abschließende Dialog mit der Dame an der Kasse sagt eigentlich alles über den Service: Sie: Hat alles gepasst? Ich: Naja, beim dritten Versuch irgendwie halt. Sie: Zahlen Sie bar oder mit Karte?

Da wär's echt besser, sie würde gar nicht fragen, weil da fühlt man sich nur noch verarscht. Sorry Vapiano, aber was stellt ihr für Leute ein? Dieses Erlebnis hat leider dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns in Zukunft eher eine Semmel mit veganer Butter vom Billa holen. Wie soll man euch da noch vertrauen? Und ich lese solche Erfahrungen ständig auf Facebook. Echt schade drum, weil die vegane Salami Pizza war...
