The vegan Café Erde is a healthy/organic place, named after 'Erde', the German term for 'earth', located right at Andreas-Hofer-Platz in the Center of Old Town of Graz. Its staff is friendly and willing to help and the atmosphere is relaxed, an ideal spot to chill out amongst the alternative scene. The Café Erde even features a big and sunny Gastgarten (patio), what is quite an exception for a location in the center. The food is great: We had a Caffé Latte and an Apfelschnitte (Apple Pie), as well as a Cappuccino, a peach juice and a peanut tart on a another day. All is organic here and tastes healthy and the coffe is Fair Trade. This place is small but very cosy in a sense that they know how to make the most of the architecture and have a nice interior as well as this community feel. And the opening hours are great as well here (open till 10 pm). And for all the vegans out there, it's all vegan here!

Read moreBefore my holiday to AT I looked up some Vegan places I could eat at while in Graz and this was one of the places to pop up. I had been very excited to visit after reading such good reviews. Not knowing any German, I had no idea what to do or say, so my gf simply ordered us the Menu for the day (Soup followed by Mango curry with a side salad) It was the best meal I have eaten as a vegan. It was unreal. You can tell that the food is made fresh and in house, the portions were generous and the taste/flavour combinations were insane. Paired with a locally produced Iced Tea drink, whilst sat outside in the blazing heat, Erde gives a thoroughly European experience to those travelling. I would also like to point out the prices, €8.something for the menu and €2-€5 drinks put establishments in the UK to shame when you consider that this food is real and not hyped up/trendy (bloody hipsters). I will 100%...
Read moreCash only. English menu is available on request. Service is great. Waitresses are welcoming. We had the crispy nuggets they were featuring and those were our favorite. Hands down. Great flavor, texture and size. We also got the snitzel and cheeseburger both with fries. The snitzel wasn't the flavour I was personally looking for, and I would have preferred it served with mashed potatoes. The salad it came with was lovely though! The cheeseburger was unfortunately too messy for our liking. Yes, it's a burger but it shouldn't fall apart/slip around on the bun the second you pick it up. The fries were delicious!! Coffee was great as well, as was the apricot nectar with...
