We had sushi and salmon and shrimp bowl. First off, the sushi was cut very chunky and put together very amateurish. The taste was rather stale, which i have told the lady serving. She then asked me to go to the kitchen to speak to the chef, who showed me that they are always cutting fresh fish. What they said i understood very little of, because their English was not that good, and my German is even worse, so we did little by way of communicating with one another. I ended up apologising, not wanting to offend him. The lady serving us gave us another pack of sushi to go, which i was unclear that she was going to do, surely to not end on a low note. Secondly, the images may give off the wrong impression: the salmon and shrimp looked plentiful in the picture, what we received were two small bits of salmon and some shrimp, all drowned in a tomato sauce.
It was not terrible, but would not recommend...
Read moreWhen you order a meal, and the plate is served within minutes, you can be sure that nothing what is served is fresh. The question is: How could they serve a table for five so fast?? The order was just out, and the plates were coming in short after! The quality was terrible. The beef strips were crunchy, not tender. The rice was dry. The salad was inspireless. The flavors were below (asian) average. Good sashimi will practically melt in your mouth and you taste the freshness of the fish. But at Akakiko, the salmon and tuna were gummy and dry(’ish). It shows the poor quality of fish. Looks like they make the sushi and sashimi in advance and place them under lamps, waiting to be served right away. The service was okay though. They were not pushy. My Kids got a lollypop at the end, so nothing wrong with the service. 2 stars for...
Read moreThis may have been the worst restaurant experience of my life, and I have traveled and eaten all over the world. The maki that my son ordered was clearly not fresh it was way too cold and the rice was hardened. Even the fried shrimp was fridge cold. When we complained and wanted to send it back, they made such an awful scene and yelled at us. Like my son wouldn’t know fresh sushi from old, he has eaten sushi and maki weekly his entire life. And yelling at the customers is the worst way to handle a situation where you are caught trying to sell old leftovers at full price. I probably wouldn’t have bothered writing a bad review had they handled it professionally.
There are so many good and friendly restaurants in Graz, my advice is to...
