I put this restaurant on my list to visit because Falstaff magazine rated it very highly despite being in the center of the tourist area. After I arrived, I visited the men's room where I witnessed an employee who failed to wash his hands after using the stall. I should have left at that point, but I did not. When the waiter took my order, instead of taking the menus with him, he plopped them on the table. After he brought me my food, it took me waving to flag him down after he did not check on me about my food or if I wanted a second drink and this despite that he passed my table every time he went out the door to the outside area. Another couple were seated, ate their food and paid before he visited me. I had to flag him down and he walked past me again and said he would come back immediately. He did not. I explained to him that the service had now been terrible and notified him about what I witnessed in the bathroom. He left and gave me no notification of what he was doing. Finally, I got up to leave and told him I was leaving and not paying. He argued with me and told me he would call the police. I called his bluff and told him to call them. They eventually came and said that I had to pay BY LAW, which I did at that point. The waiter tried telling them in German that he was doubtful of what I had seen in the bathroom. I asked him if he was calling me a liar? I thanked the Police and told them that I trusted what they were saying, that if I had to pay, then I would, but that I did not trust the waiter and of course, I gave him no tip. The food was okay. Nothing special for Austria. For a restaurant so highly rated, I was amazed. I will never go back and I will be sure to post to all review sites. Be warned! Spend your money somewhere else. The Augustiner Stiftskeller a few steps away had much better service and better food for a...
Read moreA story below Be aware!!! Worst service ever. The food is nothing special as well. Just a place for catching tourists. I’ve been there a few times before with my mother and sister and it was ok, may be we got lucky with the waiter back then.
But last time was literally the worst experience I had as a costumer.. ever! We sat on a table outside with my boyfriend. We were having a walk in the city center and it was quite hot, so we had a bottle of water and a pack of rice biscuits with us. At the very moment the waitress saw us (actually one of the ugliest human creatures I’ve ever seen, in looks and in behavior) she started screaming at us and literally was pushing us out of the table and screaming about us going alway immediately. Scared of the creature, we decided to search for salvation in the restaurant and telling the manager what happened. The most amazing part was that the manager wasn’t bothered by the behavior of its employee, the humanoid middle aged blond woman told us that the waitress has the right to refuse serving us if she doesn’t want to. Which is ok, it’s a human right not doing your job, but at the scene I was sincerely wandering if an exorcist won’t be needed. What we eventually found out was that the creature, obviously capable of do some thinking, though that we sat on the table just to rest and feast on our bottle of water and few rice biscuits. Since then I’m afraid of walking by this restaurant alone at night. There’s something completely wrong with those people, or...
Read moreWe left that place disappointed. The food was really good, but the service was HORRIBLE ! We waited for a very long time for the menu, and again for a very long time to order our main dish. The waitress was absolutly not paying attention to us. When we ordered she was very unkind. We were only two people, and our two dishes arrived separately, my girlfriend had to start eating without me. We wanted to order some dessert because they looked very tasty (we saw it on other tables), but the waitress was too unprofessional ! She sat down at a table next to us, to drink glasses of champagne with two young guys, probably friends of her, and was laughing with them. She did that twice while we were waiting and the room was full of clients ! So we decided to give up on desserts and to go to the market to eat some waffles. We did not even try to call her (she still wasn't taking attention), we left the money on the table, with 1 cent coin for tip, and honestly it worth...
