Gelbes Krokodil — Restaurant in Linz

This restaurant was an absolute disappointment - it is hard to tell which was more horrific - the food or the service.

The starter - some "cheese variation" - was absolutely underwhelming and overpriced. For three tiny pieces of breaded cheese - which resemble those that you can sometimes get at McDonalds - and some sadly looking salad garnish in the center you are paying 6,50€.

For the main dish - a Seitan Schnitzel - you would get two tasteless, disgusting pieces of unseasoned Seitan which were soaked in fat.

When telling the waiter that the food was too fatty to be eadible, another employee would show up, arrogantly explaining that the Seitan was one of the best you could get in Austria. He then told me what I consider to be fat are just the juices of Seitan and that its me who simpely does not know how this product usually tastes.

The only positive thing about this stay was the beer. If you feel desparate enough to ever visit this place for food strongly consider ordering plenty of alcohol. Maybe this can somehow compensate the rest of a horrible experience...

... or do yourself a favor and just pick any other restaurant in Linz, because it could not possibly...

Amazing vegan food and service!

Visiting from Australia and found this place following Trip Advisor/Google reviews. Being a Saturday night, they were nearly fully booked but seated us at the bar. The staff were absolutely motoring to serve everyone but still found time to generously attend to us and our German language deficiencies (and recommending us some top notch tap beers). They were also kind enough to reseat us at a table when it became free. The menu is so clearly laid out with vegetarian and vegan sections - and they even showed different allergy codes like soy and sulfur! The food was delicious - truly some of the best dedicated vegan I've had. Despite the very upmarket decor it was astoundingly well priced - 50€ for two beers, two mains, and two apéritifs. We absolutely love it - they offer great variety of different dishes and cater to all tastes, including spicy, vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian💪 Staff and service are just great and they always have a bowl of water for the dog which we really appreciate ☺️ It is super comfy to sit and enjoy and because it is located inside OK and downstairs of the Moviemento Cinema, it is just a guaranteed perfect evening 🙂 Everything is sourced regionally, ecologically and sustainably and the chefs create an individual lunch menu and dinner menu every day according to the fresh local produce they received 😍 wine selection is also great, we especially love the Merlot 🤤 Extra plus: super dog friendly, service is great!
