Solaris — Restaurant in Linz

I didn't like the fact that you have to go out of the bar, up the stairs through a long corridor on an upper floor for the toilet (also very small). The entire building is old. The place itself has some somewhat cute tables, but that's all. You can see real fast that not a lot of investment was made for decorating. There was a Dj performing when I visited. It was not my taste, though. The dance floor is small. Behind the bar, some people know what they are doing, some are still in training, so your order timing depends to whom you adress it to. As an American student studying in Europe, my friends from Linz took me here for my last night in Austria. SO MUCH FUN! The people here were very nice and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone here was there to have a good time. So that includes making conversations, comfortability, etc. there was never one incident here where I felt like I was to be excluded. Schön: Das Solaris. Souveräne Drinks, tolle Getränkeauswahl generell, angenehme Hintergrundmusik unter der Woche, kontemporäre, gut ausgewählte DJ Bookings am Wochenende. Dass kein Eintritt erhoben wird, sollte man festhalten.

Bis 23 Uhr gibt es auch Kleinigkeiten zu essen. Die Schafkäse-Spinatpide ist definitiv empfehlenswert!

Nicht schön: Wenn das Lokal Freitag oder Samstag voll ist und Gäste, in der Hoffnung nach Aufmerksamkeit bezüglich ihres Durstes, zu pfeifen, fuchteln und/oder zu schreien beginnen. In dieser Bar hat noch jeder seinen Drink erhalten. Ok, Minderjährige oder komatös/aggressiv Betrunkene nicht. Aber wenn du das Glück hast, dass du nicht zu diesem Typus von Mensch zählst, wirst du einen astreinen Gin Fizz um halb Vier in der Früh bekommen. Versprochen. Gönn dir und dem Servicepersonal die Zeit, die dein Drink braucht. Dir Läuft nichts davon und bist du nicht alleine in der Bar.

Auch nicht schön: Kein Trinkgeld geben! Ein Bier kostet 3,90. Tip auf 4,00 oder 4,50 oder wenn du besoffen bist auf 5,00. 10 - 20 % sind angemessen. Tu es einfach. Tu es. Tu es.
