Finding a hidden gem in Vienna was an unexpected delight during our evening search for a late-night meal. Despite the limited options at 9 PM, we stumbled upon this excellent spot where the service and personal touch truly stood out. One person single-handedly attended to us, from seating and cooking to serving our food, making the experience genuinely remarkable.

Definitely the best part is the service. Unique, personalized, and as Mexicans, we greatly appreciate when something is done with love. The host was completely attentive and kind at all times.

There were many food options, and we were able to try some delicious typical dishes. Everything we ordered was excellent: appetizers, the Viennese schnitzel, salads, beers, and wine.

The place is very picturesque, the decor is eye-catching, and you feel welcome. The prices were affordable, with a dish and drink for each of us ranging from 14-25 euros per person. We would definitely return. We could chat and interact with the host, perceiving that service is his vocation, and he does it well. Just this one person attended us, seated us, cooked, and brought our food—impressive. Really, the service and getting to know the owner elevate the experience. Excellent evening, we loved finding this place during our...

Bernardos is an absolutely charming and sweet neighborhood bistro.

The interior is compact and just kitsch enough to feel like you are visiting an old friends living room.

The service is very nice and sweet. The main server is very open and friendly and speaks multiple languages. We came at perhaps the busiest time, Saturday night dinner, so she was trying her best to keep up with orders, because the place was full. She did a good job! Very polite, engaging, sweet. But maybe one more person for the rush hours to just collect payment or hand out drinks would make her life much easier.

The menu is small and hand selected. But oh my gosh. I haven't had such good austrian food in a very long time. It was fresh. It was delicious. Well seasoned and prepared with love and care. I think the food is a well kept secret, you wouldn't know you were getting such good food just by walking by. I think this place is amazing. Soon they will be changing to their summer menu, I...

Amazing food! I am allergic to dairy and shellfish and was able to eat the most delicious meal and didn’t feel like I went without, like I do in most restaurants. They hand make the food when you order, so the chef made the butter spaetzel for me with oil instead, and I had the Viennese goulash which was delicious and full of flavor. I was able to eat delicious food just like everyone else, without giving up the flavors. So special!

As others have said, the owner-Alfredo-is very friendly, and he is an excellent chef. Despite this being a one-man operation, the food came out quickly and was expertly prepared. The breaded fried cutlets of chicken and pork were tender, with a perfect crust, never oily. I think he was encouraging us to order the spaetzle; maybe next time. I really want to try his soup, too. Most or all entrees are under $20e and come with delicious butter potatoes or fries. He offers draft beer, wine and mixed drinks. He gives you an appetizer and cookies. Lovely meal and the close quarters encouraged all customers to talk.
