I had a craving for Austrian Schnitzel so I got a train ticket and traveled from Győr to Vienna. The Restaurant is very easy to find. You get out of the Central station and voilà there it is. It has an intimate setting as you go in making you feel welcomed and at the same time immersing you in the beer garden experience. All the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable not only about the dishes and the menu recommendations but also the city in general with very good suggestions. The food presentation is top notch. The beer suggestions were amazing. The service is very punctual and the customers do not have to wait long and what they ask, they get. The restaurant also has a BBQ kitchen that I would love to try upon my return. The chocolate dumplings for dessert are amazing. The presentation and the combination of the flavors is unmatched. A good coffee does not need sugar so I did not had to add sugar to the cappuccino. Definitively recommend for first timers who want an Austrian cuisine immersion experience.

A 'fancier' take on classic Austrian dishes with the typical higher prices, small portions, and pretentious "inventive" dishes/plating. €2.50 cover fee per person, €1.80 tap water, no bread basket; there was an amuse bouche jelly with tiny pieces of (cold/hard) diced meat and veggies and two fragments of salted chip, not something I would pay for. Potato dumpling appetizer was pretty good. The blood sausage appetizer was unexpectedly just two deep fried filled balls and didn't taste like much (didn't even remotely address my craving; had to go get the real thing the next day) Boiled beef was soft but not that tender and disappointingly all broken apart and half the quantity of a standard version of the dish; roast potatoes were nice and veggies were fresh but nothing special in terms of taste. Overall, the "inventiveness" seemed contrived to charge higher prices with no real contribution to taste (especially the amuse bouche and blood sausage balls). Strongly prefer the traditional hearty versions of the dishes.

This restaurant is right in front of the Central Station. Convenient. But they charge €2.50 per person after 5PM for sitting and eating their bread. So... Not sure if most people would be OK with that. But the food is quite good. It starts really well with the Grilled Watermelon. Nice warm texture and sweetness from the watermelon, then there is creamy cheese on top, with crispy pine nuts, then the sourness from the olives. Great dish. I had the beef with potato dumpling. Is nice. The wine flavor from the sauce and tender beef. We also ordered steak with crispy onions. That is quite nice as well. The combination of the steak with brown sauce, crispy onions and potatoes.

When I enter the restaurant, the waiter arrange a table for us. But no one gives me a menu until I raise my hand and find someone to give it to me. After we order, a waiter put down two appetiser which we didn’t order. Some Google reviews reflect the appetiser would be charged. At the end it is charged as same as others. At the moment, I still think it is acceptable as I hope the last meal of our trip is joyful. We ordered Wiener schnitzel and braised beef. The pork is big but dry. The source of beef is great but tough. Maybe it is overcooked. I have told three different waiters to pay the bill. I have been waited for 5 minutes between I find another waiter. The first one I told replied me a ‘Yes’. I told to pay the bill to the second one when clear the dishes on my table. He also told me ‘OK’. And the last one finally took the bill to me. But I still wait for 5 minutes for the bill. The bill is €57.9. I gave one €10, one €50, two €0.2 and one €0.5. And they change two €0.5 and 10€0.2 to me. I know they want me leave some for tips. I am so mad as long waiting time. They do not deserve any tip. I looked for the comment on Google that is a great restaurant with excellent food. I hope others look for other better restaurants...

We found this place because of the good reviews, but were quite disappointed. To start, when calling for reservations, the guy was not very friendly and sounded a little strange. When we arrived, it seemed that same person was our server, and he was very unfriendly, passive aggressive, and overall unpleasant.

He didn't even get our two person order right. We thought, let's just laugh it off and hopefully enjoy the food, but it was the worst meal we had all week. The schnitzel was very mediocre, with off tasting Preiselbeeren sauce, and meh mushy potatoes.

When I got my correct meal, the Kalbsbutterschnitzel, I was also very disappointed. It was quite flavorless. From the mashed potatoes to the meat itself.

The prices were fine, and all the other servers seemed quite nice. We just got stuck with the bad server (which seems to be referenced in many other reviews) and maybe the kitchen had a bad night. Overall, not something I'd recommend if you want to make sure to have a good dinner while visiting Vienna.

Also - for what it's worth, 2.50 per person to set the table is bizarre. I've never had such a charge in any restaurant - just charge a euro or two more for your food instead of inserting such...
