I don't often write reviews, however, I had such a lovely experience visiting this Cafe Konditiorei that I had to! We came across this traditional Cafe on a quiet Sunday afternoon whilst wandering around the Neubau neighbourhood and I am so pleased that we went inside instead of going to one of the 'young and trendy' cafe's nearby. Firstly, the Cafe looks like something from a Wes Anderson movie, the decor and lighting are amazing. Secondly, the owner of the cafe (who could also be a character from a Wes Anderson movie!) is one of the most friendly and warm people I have ever met. We had a Weiner Eiskaffee (Viennese ice-coffee) and an großer schwarzer (large black) which were made with such care and were delicious. I just wished that I had tried a cake as apparently the same man has been making them especially for the cafe for years. Do yourself a favour and visit this real Viennese cafe, sit quietly outside and enjoy, hopefully you will have the pleasure of meeting the owner...

Read moreVery mediocre store-bought cakes and coffee. It has an authentic 1940s smell and is empty most of the time. No english comprehension means ordering by pointing at things and asking questions is met with a sharp 'No!' instead of trying to make a plan. Perhaps modernizing the seating and specializing in larger - less generic cakes that can be bought in wholesale at supermarkets - would bring this place back...
