Hammond Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

The Hammond bar is undoubtedly the coolest bar in the district, nee possibly in all of vienna. It is tastefully decorated with soft furnishings and low lighting and lots of super artifacts especially down by the "secret room" designed for intimate private parties. As a musician and producer it is a place that I would bring colleagues and clients alike. The bar staff are friendly fast efficient and not obtrusive in any way. It is hosted by the owner Sigi whose choice of music is varied and in all genres. I'm often there alone and am always made completely welcome. What a great experience Hammond is. Even though it was crowded at around midnight the waiter found us a nice spot for two at the bar within 5 minutes. We ordered cocktails that are not on the menu but they tasted amazing nevertheless. The staff was polite and eager to offer us water refills at all times. The drinks themselves are certainly not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for. The only downside is that it is allowed to smoke inside, but the ventilation must have been really string as I don't notice any smoke for at least an hour. Unbelievable atmosphere, cozy yet uplifting. Cocktails are delicious, wonderful and super creative but surprisingly well balanced.

A plus: the great attention to details in everything, from the furniture to the presentation of cocktails and longdrinks, to the rare stuff well dislocated all around the Bar.

Suuuuuper super super expensive I have to say, especially coming from Italy, but it's got that special spark to it that legitimates the prices.
