Leopold Essen & Trinken — Restaurant in Vienna

Abysmal service. I came in with my wife at someone's recommendation. Seemed like a nice place, we sat down, said hello to the waiters on the way in, and because it was pretty busy we initially shrugged it off when it took them 15 minutes to bring us menus.

We then made excuses for them (we both worked in the service industry before, we are aware of the stress of a busy night) as they made us wait another 15 minutes to take our order.

1 hour and 15 minutes after they took our order, after passing us by bringing food and drinks to people who had just arrived, one of the waiters took our salt and pepper away from the table, asking if we had ordered, so I checked with the one that took our order about the food.

He came back saying he forgot to place the order to the kitchen because of how busy it was, so we cancelled the order entirely, and offered to pay for the two beers they did bring 1 hour earlier. To their credit they at least waived the charge for the two beers, but by this point, instead of enjoying our evening we're both hungry and annoyed and we wasted almost two hours of our lives.

Maybe the food really is good, but I doubt it's good enough to make up for the bad service. I cannot recommend. Spend your money...

We started our first night in Vienna hoping to experience and enjoy some of the bountiful offering of this beautiful country. The Weiner Schnitzel.

We thought that Leopold Essen & Trinken would have been the perfect place for such experience. Cozy and welcoming, located away from the hustle and bustle of busier streets, with it’s charming terrace.

We were wrong. Things started going wrong right after we placed our order. Just being served water took more than 10 minutes. We had to wait more than an hour and a half after we placed our order to receive our main dishes. Meanwhile, new patrons were getting their dishes before we got anything.

They didn’t offer anything except a half hearted apology after we complained about the situation. We had to suggest to them that they might want to offer us complimentary dessert for the inconvenience.

When came time to pay, they informed us that they couldn’t accept any form Of card payment. We really feel like they should have informed us of this when we walked in.

Schlechter geht’s nicht. Wir waren hier wegen einer 30% Aktion auf the Fork, das wird wohl das erste und letzte mal gewesen sein. Nie so einen schlechten Service und essen erlebt.

Als wir ankamen wurden wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass es bis zu 40 Minuten dauern kann. Dachten wir uns: okay kann ja passieren.

Wir haben als Vorspeise eine Frittatensuppe und eine Bärlauchsuppe bestellt. Und als Hauptspeise einen Salat mit Ziegenkäse und einen Vegetarischen Burger.

Die Suppen kamen nach 30 Minuten und waren noch okay. Da dachten wir gut, man hat es so getimed das man dann nicht noch mal lang warten muss. Vor allem die Frittatensuppe war ganz klar eine fertige Grundsuppe.

Nach der Suppe haben wir dann noch einmal ÜBER EINE STUNDE gewartet. In der Stunde kam nicht ein einziges Mal ein Kellner und hat uns gefragt, ob wir etwas trinken wollen.

Als unsere Hauptspeise bekamen war dann das dann Faß übergelaufen.

Beide Ziegenkäse waren komplett verbrannt und trieften von Fett. Gerade im Salat nicht sehr sinnvoll.

Im Salat fehlten ALLE Zutaten der Karte (unter anderem Radieschen, Apfel, Mandelsplitter, Maracuja. Es war lediglich Salat und der Ziegenkäse. Für fast 14€ eine absolute Frechheit.

Beim Burger war auch alles verbrannt, die Avocado war total hart und es war nichts gewürzt, es fehlte auch eine Sauce. Und auch die Zwiebeln fehlten. Zudem bekamen wir Pommes statt suesskartoffelpommes. Das wurde immerhin schnell behoben.

Die Speisen waren allerdings so ungenießbar, dass wir uns an den Kellner gewendet haben. Dies war ein anderer Kellner als unsere ursprüngliche Bedienung. Man hat sich entschuldigt und ist uns entgegengekommen, sodass man die Hauptspeise nicht zahlen musste.

Wir sind dann ohne essen und nach knapp 2 Stunden Zeitverschwendung gegangen.

Gezahlt haben wir knapp 22€ für zwei Suppen und zwei anti alkoholische Getränke. Dabei haben wir dann Nicht einmal die 30% Rabatt bekommen.

Wirklich den schlechtesten Service jemals erlebt. Beim rausgehen hat man auch noch einen Blick in die Küche erhaschen können und auch gesehen, dass einfach fertiger Erdäpfelsalat von Metro benutzt wird. Für diese unfassbaren Preise und das man bekommt eine Frechheit. Auch die Pommes waren sicherlich tiefgefrorene. Wenn dann wenigstens der Preis und Service passt okay, aber so sicher nicht.
