An excellent Japanese restaurant. The Atmosphere is really calm, in a Japanese style. The restaurant is really spacious and it's separated in two "divisions" - in the first one you sit at a normal European style table, and in the second division you sit in at a Japanese style table where you have to take off your shoes and enjoy the food in a real Japanese atmosphere - it's really cool! The staff is very well organised and really professional, the place is calm. The food is also amazing. One of the best Sushi's I've eaten - it's quite natural and its great if you like fish. Their Soi sauce, rice and a lot of other stuff are homemade. Their chicken karage are also good but not that authentic. I highly recommend coming here if you enjoy Japanese couisine.

The only reason I kept returning to Hidori is that they’re the only restaurant in Vienna that regularly serve Otoro and Chutoro. But after multiple visits the Otoro were as sinewy as the first time around. Really a big bummer. If only they knew how to age the fish properly. Last December I tried their Chutoro for the first time and had a feeling that they were cut the wrong way, ended up looking rather squishy. Other than that, most of their dishes were decent. The least favorite was the ramen. If you visit during peak hours be prepared to wait as there‘s basically 1 chef and 1 kitchen hand/waiting staff. Their opening hours on Google are also not always reflecting their actual schedules. Best to call beforehand to check if they’re open.

it was such a lovely experience & I am definitely coming back! If you are looking for a calm and traditional japanese restaurant, this is the place to go to! we came here as a group of three at night, I ordered the vegetarian menu which had various small dishes, like tofu & maki, my father had ramen & my mum the salmon bowl. the waiters were so friendly and giving us the best recommendations for the various tees they have! all in all it’s more expensive then other japanese restaurants, but the quality and presentation is worth it! (they don‘t have a lot of vegetarian options, but the ones they have are really good!)

This was my third visit. Good atmosphere, kind staff. This place is definitely where you can sit down and relax. Fish dish was however less than satisfactory. While visually pleasing, I had a feeling that some ingredients were slightly stale. I tasted a piece of tuna nigiri, and decided not to touch the tuna sashimi. Lachs tartar was okay. Sake was served not very chilled.

Ramen noodle dish was superb. While not very traditional - I think it was actually more udon broth than actual shoyu ramen broth, please correct me if I'm wrong - it tasted amazing. The noodles have very good texture, perfectly chewy, and other vegetable ingredients really brought the whole dish to another level.

Price is not the best but still reasonable.

Overall, I recommend that people visit this restaurant. While not my all time favorite Japanese place, I'd definitely love to return for a bowl of ramen and...
