Il Basilico — Restaurant in Vienna

Usually we come for the nice Pizza but tonight we decided to try something else. I ordered pork with potatoes, a kids portion spaghetti with Parmesan for our baby (almost 10 euro..) and a starter plus simple salad and bread for my wife. Drinks showed up quickly enough but then some 40 minutes of nothing except plenty of waiters chatting and eating pizza toppings next to us (place was almost empty), when we inquired about the food one waiter did go to check and some 5 minutes later finally brought the simple spaghetti and starter for my wife, he only brought the salad when reminded and we never got the promised bread... as for my dish I was told it would just be another 5 minutes, so I waited while my family ate in front of me. When they were done just 7 minutes later I asked again, waiter did not even respond, just went to the kitchen and started talking to the staff, finally he brought my dish of very well done pork (dry and tasteless) and some dry potatoes with a bit of parsley. For this I waited over 50 minutes..... I ate what I could with a lot of salt to add some flavor only because I was hungry. When asked if I liked my meal I told the waiter the truth and asked for the bill. Again no verbal response at all, just quietly brought the bill and let me pay for the worst meal I had in years. We know they can do better as we have been there multiple times before, but for the future it will only be...

Waited for an order of two pizzas for at least 45 min. Asked the waiter several times if the order was ready, she promised to check, never came back, practically ignoring us. The fact that we had a small kid with us, who was really hungry, did not really help. In the end we only paid for drinks and left. The other waiter said that making this pizza takes time, as it's Neapolitano style pizza. Well, maybe there is does. Nowhere in Italy had I wait that long for a pizza. Result: disappointed and hungry. Never...

I saw this cute place. Super romantic and excellent customer service. They made my favorite food perfect. All the servers are sweet and ready to help you out. I've already came here a few times in a months period, and every time I come here, I feel like it's at home and it's soooooo romantic. I always bring new people here and they have enjoyed it too! If I ever come back to Vienna again, this is the first place I am going. Plus it is real Italian food with real Italian chefs. Almost...
