Edit: Dear God with the slow service here. I think they have to train the trainees better. I got in 2:10pm. My order got taken at 2:22pm. There was only one more table in the shop. The young man completely ignored me. It's much better if you just took my order before starting to make foods. Yet he took orders from others before making my food?
It's a quick-bite kind of restaurant. If you don't want a heavy night with your friends, but still want a nice place to eat authentic Mexican foods, this place is a good candidate. The servers are very friendly. I did enjoy the my tacos, but they are certainly not the best I've had. They got the heat right. I do wish they gave more meat filings though. I got here because I really like one thing: corn. I like Mexican foods because of that. The starchy flavors in Mexican foods give a very earthy taste to me. And here, they make their corn taco shells...
Read moreFabulous!! It's been such a challenge finding good Mexican food in Vienna, but it appears that my woes are over. So much care goes into the food here! The tortillas are made COMPLETELY from scratch- i.e. they start with corn, go through the entire nixtamalization process, grind the masa by hand, make the dough, and then heat the tortillas fresh when you place your order. Not even my favorite taco shops in California put in that much work! The fillings are also delightful, and include hard-to-source ingredients (e.g. cascabel peppers). There's a constantly rotating menu, so there's always something new to try. I placed an order to-go, and not only was it sustainably packaged, but it still tasted phenomenal when I got home half an hour later. I can't wait to sample more of these phenomenal tacos! This is a small business...
Read moreI have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and this one left me confused. I hope it was just my experience because the reviews I read were good which is why I went. I ordered the vegetarian tacos and was given tacos with fried cubed potatoes and a few green beans topped with raw cabbage. There was no flavour. When I said I didn’t like them they offered me some cream and spicy sauces. Other Mexican restaurants serve guacamole, chopped tomato salsa, cheese, black beans or mixed peppers but this one had nothing else to offer to add some flavour. The waitress looked at me like I had a problem and clearly didn’t want to offer a solution to help me enjoy my experience. Perhaps I’ve been spoilt before but this place was not for me. The margarita however was...
