We celebrated a birthday at THELL with a group of 18 people a few days ago, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish.
Before deciding on the venue, we visited THELL to discuss our needs and check out the seating options. Felipe welcomed us warmly, gave us a detailed walkthrough of the space, and patiently answered all our questions. His reassurance and flexibility made us feel confident that everything would go smoothly—and it did.
One thing we really appreciated was how accommodating the restaurant was. There was no pre-payment required, no minimum consumption, and the only fixed charge was €4.40 per person for the bread and their signature dip at the beginning. That level of flexibility is rare and made planning stress-free.
There were several seating arrangements available for larger groups, and we indicated our preference. The exact table setup could only be confirmed one day before the event, depending on other reservations and how many rooms were in use that night, which was understandable.
Although a DJ was originally planned for the evening, he canceled at the last minute. Despite this, the team reassured us that a curated playlist would keep the atmosphere lively—and they absolutely delivered. The evening had a perfect balance of elegance and fun.
We were allowed to bring our own cake without any extra charge (which some venues do require), and the staff made it a special moment with a birthday song and even a knife warmed in hot water to make slicing easier—such a thoughtful detail! Dogs are also very welcome, which is a big plus for pet lovers.
Our table was ready on time, beautifully set with glasses and chilled prosecco as requested. We were also allowed to decorate the table ourselves, and although we missed the deadline to order floral decorations through the restaurant, we added our own rose petals and flowers, which worked beautifully.
The food was excellent—everyone was happy with both their first and second courses. Service was outstanding; we never had to flag anyone down. The staff checked on us regularly without being intrusive, and everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional.
After dinner, we moved to the bar area, which was convenient and kept the good vibes going. The transition was smooth and the atmosphere remained lively and enjoyable.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience that fully met—and even exceeded—our expectations. We highly recommend THELL for group celebrations. Thank you to the entire THELL team for making our...
Read moreExpected more. Received less. First off, website doesn't work. For a restaurant such good reviews this is a problem. The menu provided online is not correct. Took my girlfriend out on anniversary and we were both very disappointed. Only reason I went there is for the 20year aged Napoleon Cake and it was not available. We should have left right away but decided to give this place a shot anyway. The tables were right on top of eachother. We literally sat inches from another table, might as well have slid the tables another inch and had a meal with strangers. The waiter was loud and aggressive. We could hear his "too cool to work here" tone across the whole place. Especially how he told everyone the tip was not included. Killed the whole dinner vibe with that garbage. Guy everyone knows to leave a tip!! Served our food slammed on the table, forks and knifes were placed on table not a napkin or something. Not very great restaurant vibes on that one. We ordered cocktails that were mostly ice, and almost no alcohol. We ordered the vegan tartar, it was okay..except cold butter. You people should be ashamed to serve frozen butter. Useless for the bread, I should have asked them to try and spread it on the bread see what happens. Anyway, moving on to main course. She ordered risotto, I ordered fillet steak. Risotto was okay, very salty. My steak, ordered medium rare with mashed potatoes. It was chunky potatoes not mashed, finish preparing the dish people it's not McDonald's. The filet was rough and chewy. Overcooked on the outside, more medium well than rare. Sauce was good though. It was too late to make other plans so we ate, if my girl wasn't there I'd ask the chef to come and try his food...garbage. Dessert was atrocious. Microwaved piece of rubber with sorbet is what it should say on the menu. We left that dessert exactly how we got it minus one bite. Best part, when the couple next to us finished that dooche of a waiter came over and sprayed the table with lemon cleaner and wiped it down, we stopped eating after that. Dumbass, spray the towel then wipe. Long story short, 155 euro wasted. I suggest to choose a different restaurant. Food=meh , service=meh, drinks=meh, atmosphere =decent, but the waiter ruined that one too. Do yourself a favor, don't read the paid for reviews, it's all bs. They will rename it something else once people realize Thell is trash. Overpriced, overhyped,...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing.
We had a reservation and arrived on time, but things quickly went downhill. The restaurant was a little busy when we arrived, and there was no one managing the seating process. We stood at the entrance for several minutes, with servers walking past us without any acknowledgment. When we finally flagged someone down, they told us to wait but didn’t offer any clear guidance. After waiting another five minutes, we approached the same server, who then asked us to move into the middle of the restaurant to wait. We thought it was because someone will be seating us there but we later figured he just wanted us out of the doorway. This make us feel even more awkward — we were now blocking the walkway and still being ignored.
To make matters worse, a group of women arrived after us and were immediately seated, while we continued to wait awkwardly. At that point, I was ready to leave, but my husband called over another server, and we were finally seated.
Our server, to his credit, was polite and attentive. So we decided to let it go and try to still enjoy the night. Unfortunately, the food didn’t redeem the experience. I ordered the Lobster Linguine for €60, which I was really excited about, but it was inedible. The dish tasted fishy, unseasoned, and bland — essentially plain pasta.
At that point, I just wanted to leave. When we asked for the bill, our server noticed I hadn’t touched my food and kindly offered to remove it from the check, which I appreciated. However, he asked us if we’d like to leave a tip. When my husband agreed to leave a 5% tip, the server questioned it, prompting my husband to explain that we were unhappy with the overall experience and we just wanted to pay and leave. The server then told us not to leave a tip (but he was nice about it).
As we were leaving, the restaurant got even busier, and it seemed clear that they cater more to locals. If you’re a foreigner, I wouldn’t recommend this place, at least based on our experience. Perhaps they were overwhelmed by the crowd, but it’s important to acknowledge guests when they arrive and manage the seating process better. I read some other reviews and bring ignored seemed to be a common complaint from customers.
I would have given one star but our service was nice because of him, i’m...
