Mostlandl — Restaurant in Vienna

Bad, bad, very bad, I stopped for a while to freshen up and drink a beer. I am a foreign tourist and the waitress deceived me with the saddest of scam tricks… I asked to pay she told me the price of the beer (€4.90) which I paid with a 10 euro. She immediately cashed the 10 euros, said goodbye to me and quickly left taking advantage of the fact that I was finishing reading a newspaper article. I realized that I had paid more than double what I should have only when I was walking away from the place… I gave up. Be careful the waitress is with long dark brown hair. Sad behavior: with a smile and a greeting she probably would have received a tip almost equal to the theft. If she is not the owner of the place be careful...

We only had beer, which was ok, and it’s a good place for some afternoon sun. But the service was absolutely terrible. I don’t know if the woman working there couldn’t handle that I asked if we were to order inside or outside when she had just stepped out for a cigarette, but she was rude and unpleasant - seemed angry as she almost threw the beers on the table, and later in german (she knew we didn’t speak the language) barked at us to turn the chairs (which we had turned to face the sun). No smiles, felt very unwelcome - hence NO...

Lovely local eatery offering the traditional cuisine. Staples like schnitzel are offered, but also seasonal dishes are on the menu(pork loin with pumpkin seed crust is delicious). Portions are ample, prices are very reasonable, the service is a bit slower than we've expected (coming in with the big city life background, being mostly tourist destination goers) - but it was actually really good to slow...
