Schlupfwinkel Abendbeisl — Restaurant in Vienna

Really surprised about all the good reviews. Went there with two friends and we waited an hour to get our soup and in total 2 hours to receive our main dishes. The stuff was just hanging out with friends and wasn’t even paying attention to us. The Käsespätzle were one of the worsts I’ve ever had with the cheese on top just heated up in the microwave (this is not an assumption I literally watched them take the dish out of the microwave). Maybe it was a bad day for them but unfortunately I cannot recommend the place.

Edit (a response to the reply I recieved): the place was not busy, I did say something and again, I literally watched them take out the dish of the microwave. The staff was next to us hanging out so maybe this isn’t usually the case but it happened. The place seems to be a fun spot to hang out and have drinks but not to have food unless you aren’t hungry and have the whole night to wait for it. This pub/restaurant was a great find, cosy, quirky decoration, lovely service and the food was spectacular. We followed the waiter’s recommendations and ended up ordering two typical dishes from this region; the schnitzel and the schinkenfleckerl and they were both delicious.
