Visited the restaurant after reading lot of reviews but it did not meet the expectations. We ordered Dal Makhani and Malai Kofta with Tandoori roti and rice. Dal makhani was below average it did not taste like a restaurant chef made it. Malai kofta was okay. Tandoori roti was very dry and was a bit over crisp like papad. And the rice was a bit less in quantity than we expected. It was not clear from the menu how much quantity one should expect. In other european countries at the indian restaurants the quantity and quality of food were much better. I don’t mind the price if quality and quantity served meets expectations. The service was little slow considering there were not many customers at that time. And I was also surprised by the water. They didn’t ask or serve us water in the beginning. And in the middle of the meal we got to know that it’s bottled water and after finishing the meal we got to know in the bill that it costs 6,50 € while the 2 portions of rice costs less. The water outside is 2,50 € approx. Also during payment they did not hand over the bill to check what we are paying is correct rather they just simply brought in card machine for payment. How am I just supposed to believe the payment amount without even looking at the bill. I think the menu looks affordable when checked online but in reality it will come par to any dine in restaurants considering quantity of food served is less. We paid around 43€ and left the restaurant hungry. So, if you order food for 2 people you need to at least order 2 or more main course dishes. And at least 2 portions of rice per person as it’s tiny. It’s the amount of rice you get as a compliment with your dishes in other countries. I am surprised that they have 5 star reviews even as food is really mediocre. Even the dhabas in India serve far better...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant in Vienna, and I must say that it was an incredible experience. As a vegetarian, I decided to try their vegetarian thali, and I was thoroughly impressed.
From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for an enjoyable evening. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and were attentive throughout my dining experience, ensuring that I had everything I needed.
When the vegetarian thali arrived at my table, I couldn't help but be amazed by the vibrant colors and mouthwatering aromas. The thali consisted of a delightful assortment of dishes, each bursting with authentic Indian flavors. From the fragrant basmati rice to the perfectly cooked lentils and aromatic curries, every component was a true culinary delight.
What I appreciated most about this restaurant was their attention to detail and commitment to providing a variety of flavors. The thali included a generous portion of different vegetable curries, perfectly balanced with spices and herbs. The flavors were rich and distinct, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs.
The restaurant's dedication to using fresh and high-quality ingredients was evident in every bite. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, retaining their natural flavors and textures. The accompanying naan bread was soft and fluffy, and the side dishes, such as raita and pickles, added a delightful tanginess...
Read moreAs an Indian, I can say that this place is fantastic if you are looking for really flavorful, authentic Indian food. They spice their dishes perfectly and everything tastes incredibly fresh. They also have fans running (if you are here in the summer, some cool air is much appreciated).
Their matar paneer seemed so fresh and soft, and the curry along with it had just the right amount of heat. Their malai kofta also was fantastic with fresh potato balls and a creamy but not overpowering sauce. Their naan was also perfectly crisp looking on the outside yet some of the softest naan on the inside. They also have excellent matar rice and mango lassi.
The reason it gets a 4 Star and not a 5 is because they have some hidden extra charge included in their fee. Somehow, we were charged €3 extra (€1 per person) for something that was not explained to us. I can only imagine it is either because we brought our own water from the outside or because we ate the FREE papadum they gave at the beginning and didn’t realize that it was not free but just something they put out on your table for you to think it is free. Had that extra charge been explained prior to ordering/paying, this would’ve...
