KURBAN SAID Restaurant — Restaurant in Baku City

I rarely write reviews for the places I visit. But this time I committed to do so, just to prevent other customers of visiting this place. Actually the first impression was very positive, and even the electricity shut down for few minutes was ok. However, when we received our dishes, disappointment was quite high. I ordered Lamb entrecôte. What I received: 3 pieces with 50% bones, 40% fat, 10% meat + grilled vegetables (1 tomato, 1 small piece of zucchini and 1 small paprika). When I asked waiter and administrator they just said: “yep, this is like that”. So for them it was ok that I paid for 20 grams of meat and tomato the price of normal dish. My father found in his plov nut’s shells, again for the staff it is ok, it is just pits from dried fruits while it was for sure nut’s shells. Also plov was almost without meat. They included both dishes in the bill. I did not have energy and time to argue with them. The absolute highlight of our Baku trip! We ate three times at Kurban Said within the four days we spent there, so we know the menu well and let me tell you, it is outstanding! Such richness in taste and creativity, we were unable to find anywhere else. It's definitely one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. Furthermore all the staff is oh so friendly and super fast with everything, prices are on the higher side but fair.

We spent one evening eating dinner on the balcony and reading in Kurban Said's Ali & Nino novel during sunset (they even have the first edition from 1937!), which just cannot be topped. An absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and elegant staff who made us feel at home. The atmosphere was perfect—peaceful, with zero noise, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal and conversation.

We ordered quzu kabab, salads, and wine, and I must say, the quzu kabab was the most delicious I have ever tasted—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor! The salads were fresh and well-balanced, complementing the dish beautifully.

Every detail, from the impeccable service to the exquisite food, made this a five-star experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-quality dining experience.
