I visited this restaurant two time ( I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone) Unpleasant attitude and bargain for Tip Rude customer service Racist approach from a staff high price
1st time
When we reached there, it was 9:30 pm, and the shop was closing at 11.
The staff showed an unpleasant attitude towards us, and it was our second day in Baku. So everything was new to us. We ordered food and juice. Which were a bit highly charged, but we thought the interior and the location gave us a good vibe. So we paid and were about to leave. Suddenly the waiter asked, “you don't like the service? Why no tip?”. (showing an unpleasant face in the beginning, and he expected a tip for that)
2nd time
A person invited us to try the item we specially asked “Shah pilaf,” and he promised it was authentic and available there. We stepped upstairs and sat in a corner place. A lady came with no patience to hear what we were saying. We were treated in the wrong way. Finally, we used our translator to help her to understand that we already place the order. She was asking only that no salad, no juice. I felt so bad, and it cost 40. And the way she treated us like we were there waiting for free food.
Such a racist approach hurt our feeling, and we cancelled the order and left the place as soon as possible.

Read moreI absolutely do not recommend this place. We did not have any bad experience in Baku with restaurants but this one was very disappointing. We ate each day in traditional restaurants within the old town but this was far the most expensive one, even though the food and the service did not have better quality than any of the other places. They charged us more than we expected (for example charging 12 manat for a lemonade even though we asked for a small one which should have costed 6 manat based on the menü), and we ended up paying 116 manat for a lunch for 3. Service was very questionable as well as they did not manage to bring our food in the same time. One of us already had a soup, starer, rice and main dish in front of them while the other 2 did not even get their starters and soups. They also did not speak english, so communication was very problematic.
But all these were just small things, the "best part" just came at the end. When we paid the waiter agressively asked for tips. (" Tips, tips, where tips?") When i told him no tips (as we were not satisfied and we already felt like we paied too much), he started to say it more and more loud and aggressively. It was a very uncomfortable situation. I definitely do not recommend this place, it seems like they just like to...
Read moreI have mixed feelin about the place. Food was super tasty! Service was nice but I would like to come back to this topic. Place is super cozy and its international place where for sure you will find language in which you can speak with waiters.
There is one thing I didnt like a lot. After receiving menu I have noticed prices are pretty nice. Around 8-10€ for big breakfast, however curious about national cousine i let waiter offer me several special dishes. Amount of dishes wasnt too big but I was very unpleasantly surprise, when on check i have noticed very big differenece from what i saw in menu if we speak about the price. My check for around 40€ completly shocked me and of course, comparing to prices for similar cousine in Europe i would pay the same, but knowing how cheap meals are offering restaurants it left me speechless.
There are always small thing that affect how we remember some places and after this situation i dont think i will come back again, despite super tasty cousine.
As a tourist i feel like i have been treated worse than local clients (who for sure are aware of the prices) and i can call...
