Chettinad Indian Restaurant Bahrain — Restaurant in Bahrain Island

Entering Chettinad restaurant was quite a pleasant surprise as it is a big and spacious restaurant, which does not appear to be so from its exterior looks. Upon entering, however, is the reception and a large waiting area. The restaurant is upstairs. The decor has been done to resemble the traditional Chettinad style.

There is a huge seating area, and the ambiance looks quite upmarket. The decor and look at the restaurant, though, is modern and not traditional.

We ordered Chettinad Kozhi Soup, Veg Manchurian, and Chettinad Mutton Chukka with rotis. The soup was amazing and we loved it. It was spicy and delicious. However, it had chicken pieces with bones, which did not make sense to be included in soup.

The Veg Manchurian was average but the Mutton Chukka was really good. But the quantity for Mutton Chukka was extremely poor.

There was a head chef like person who was taking the orders and was giving his suggestions and opinions while ordering. He was helpful and polite. He was constantly present in the dining area, ready to assist diners at every beck and call, while supervising other staff.

The prices are pretty good, as they are not very expensive. The Chettinad dishes delivered as per the taste, and the service was quick and satisfactory. The bathroom was clean but did not match up to the seemingly fancy dining area.

The crowd consisted of mostly Tamilians and had a mixed crowd of families and bachelors. It definitely seems to be a regular among Tamilians.

We will definitely be visiting again to try out other...

We have ordered from Chettinand several times through talabat and the food is always at its best.

But today, for a change wanted to have a dine in experience. We ordered Paper dosa , Chicken Kottu Parotta and juices ( watermelon and lime soda)

Paper dosa was served hot and excellent taste. The chutney and sambar were top class.

The kottu parotta was outstanding it had a good amount of chicken and for the price the food was great!

We asked the juices with no added sugar and was served as requested.

A must try place if you are looking to have a filling meal with a budget.

However, there is one flaw which was very disturbing. The dine- in area had a very high stink. I’m not sure if it was the smell from the bathroom that was moving around the hall area. But it was a very strong awful smell. Smell was very unpleasant which made us have our food soon and leave.

Food , service and staff wise excellence and every spacious as well the only flaw was the horrible stink moving...

Really disappointed and wasted my money by ordering Egg Kothu parotta and Chennai special Noodles (charged Bhd2.00) totally waste.. Given special request to make spicy they add only chilly powder and turmeric was too much, fortunately we did not felt any spicy on that only color coated was there

My god… noodles I couldn’t able to believe Oil was like a watery…… In the Sense we eating noodles as soupy flavor Called the receptionist and convey my disappointment……. As usual answers came SORRY we will correct next time………………. what about my paid amount?...
