Read moreFood was ok! I know they used a good black truffle (Tartufo Nero) oil to give extra taste to the Gnocchi, but it didn't bother me as that was the tastiest black truffle pasta I had in years.
While the Gnocchi (Potato based Pasta) was over cooked and felt like eating mash potato. The starters were ok, and the pizza my husband took was very regular that even couldn't feel any quality to the cheese on top…
Atmosphere was dark, romantic and quite pleasant until other guests came in… We were early I guess!
The host was pushy… She came on to us when going through the menu assuming we don’t understand. She actually said: I know it’s all in Italian and difficult to understand. But I have memorized the whole menu and can recommend something to you… We didn't like her pushy way but it was manageable.
Biggest shock for me were two points.
When some guest walked in and were seated few table away from us the host went to their table and obviously they were regular customers that led to over comfortable standing position from the host and her loud voice talking about her recommendations… That was horrible thing to see and to experience in supposedly high class restaurant.
When checking the comment of different customers on different sites the horrible arrogant disrespectful answers of the Executive Chef; Chef Susy Massetti… There are no apologies, there are no customer service quality answers… Just simply RUDE full of herself. As an Italian Chef that refuses to serve Penne Arrabiata and doesn't know the difference between mash potato balls in and Gnocchi… She should be bit more humble!!
Now even with all the negativeness I will still visit simply for the smell and taste of the Tartufo Nero (Black truffle)...
Read moreMost food was amazing, but ... the special (beef wellington) was not MY favorite.
We ordered three main dishes, including the special, along with 2 appetizers, 1 side dish, and 6 drinks-- all for only 2 adults and a 7-years-old child, who did not even eat her main because she got full from the appetizers and drinks. 😜
I was surprised that waitress did not tell us the special is not a one-person dish when we were clearly ordering one main dish for each person (including kid). I did not plan on eating that dish. It was not my main dish. The waitress should have informed us that special (beef wellington) serves 2-3 people and that how much it was (about 60BD alone).
I am semi-vegetarian but had to eat stake since the staffs (host and the servers) were so excited and proud of that dish, and without asking, they separated it into two plates and literally replaced my plate which my main dish I was enjoying. 😆😜.
Having said that, appetizers, drinks, and my main with side dishes (asparagus) were all fantastic! I wanted to give 10 stars until I had to painfully stuff ourselves with unwanted meat. It was too much food, and the total bill was ridiculously high (due to the beef wellington). 156BD! Food was 10 stars, but the service was -7. But i will give 4 stars because it is Christmas.😁
Oh, one more note though: the staffs were not wearing face shields & masks like many other upscale restaurants servers do nowadays.
P.S: i just had leftover my asparagus and Risotto-- they are heaven! 😆😆 So...
