“The infamous resturant I wanted to try for some time”
Let me give you some steps to eat at this resturant: Come early and look for a parking space: Because they dont have a lott in the morning. You will spend your time looking for a spot to park in Take the token: The rush and the people is tooo much and yes it is just for the hype. You have got to seat minimum 15-20 minutes after taking the serial token. In our case it was 40 minutes After Seating at your table, wait for the waiter : You have finally sat down but there is no one to be foundd and you have to wait minimum 10-15 minutes for one. In our case, it was 20 minutes Wait for the food: Waiting for food at this stage is straight up annoying but luckily it doesn't take much time IF your food is arrives correctly and mind it they bring wromg order or swap orders. (Yes this is normal as there was a huge rush) Eat the food and pay: Now you can eat food and then pay by cash or bkash
Now regarding the place and food: Place is nice and the decor is good but you need to come at a free time to click pictures. 8/10 Chicken soup: It was good and had a coconut flavour, maybe they use coconut milk. It was good but the one at star is better. 6/10 Khasir Paya: It was not good. It was just simple daal with some paya but not really good and yes the one at star is better. But i am truly disappointed from this paya. 5/10 Rumali rut/ Paratha: Good but can be better 6/10 Cha: Yes,I can proudly say that this cha is better than star or most of the places. Cha is really really really good. 8/10
For verdict, as per the hype visiting there with this long queue and wait time is not worth it. If you ever wanna try, Go and try once. But the hype is not worth it to be honest and i am writing this based on the food first, then the long queue fact. The place and ambiance is great, people are good too but food is good, not the best. And Yes, If you ever go there, the cha...
Read moreThis is a relatively new place that has become a popular destination. Went here after hearing the good reviews about this place. Came here on a Saturday morning, around 830. There was a very long wait line for tables. We somehow managed to find a table. They seemed to have grown too popular for their own good. The service was very lacking. We somehow managed to get the last lot of the first morning batch, but still we couldn't get some items as they were already out. This place seems to have replicated the style of Star Kabab. Most of the food items were good but due to the seating issues and lack of items availability, they asked us to order beforehand, before we were fully seated, so that we can at least get some of the items. Hence, when they brought our food we'd only managed to get half od seating, so they just left the food there on one table and let it get cold. So maybe if we'd been able to eat it just as it came, probably might have tastes better. But the doesn't seem like something I'd want to do again, to pay full price for food that's been left cold, just because I had to wait upwards of 30 mins to get a seat. And when it was time for the bill, they had the audacity to say that they had "lost" the order list and hence needed us to remind them of it. Afterwards they billed wrong as well and we had to have them correct it. When paying for the bill the waiter counted wrong and when I asked them to recalculate, they showed a lot of attitude. I get it, that they are overworked, but maybe that's something management needs to look at, and this is no excuse for poor behavior. Honestly, wouldn't come back here because you can get literally the same stuff ar Star Kabab but with a better experience. I hope they improve their service in line with the scale at which they are service the large number...
Read moreOne of the most hyped restaurants of recent times. Facebook is flooded with reviews by vloggers. Usually I avoid these like the plague and most of them really fall flat or fall short of the expectations. But not Durbin. It lives up to the hype and more. We went there on a Saturday at 8 am ish and it was just insane crazy crowd. At first I thought there must be some Genjam as that is the trending these days. Then I figured it was the waiting line to be seated!! We waited more than half an hour to get a table for 6. But I have to give a huge Kudos to the management and the staff of the Restaurant. There was no HoiChoi or bad behaviour. It was spotless clean, servers were good mannered, food was served quick and efficient. Cleaning was done round the clock constantly. Now the food. It is difficult to cook good simple food and it is very difficult to cook this kind of good food at this mass scale. We were blown away. We tried many things for the breakfast but I will give you my top list - Aloo (OMG), plain vegetable, brain are the top picks in savoury. Don’t go for the hyped Chicken Soup, it disappointed, but I can just go back for any of the items I Mentioned. Now their signature item, the Shujir Halwa…..what can I say. It had the right sweetness and balanced with the hint of salt, there’s a bit of bite even though it’s semi liquid and they have some ghee on top. It is just divine! Exquisite. Haven’t had this kind of fine cooking in many expensive restaurants. Finally, they have great small sized piping hot Chana Mishti. Order it with the main dishes, so you can have it...
