Bangaliana Bhoj — Restaurant in Dhaka Metropolitan

Bangaliyana Bhoj Located on Panthapath near Square Hospital (Adjacent of Hotel Panthapath). Due to some food bloggers recent reviews/videos/featuring this place becomes so high rated. So lets come to real review of the Restaurant and food test.

Environment: Today (Friday) I've visited the restaurant. This place was over crowded. Even you need to take serial (as patients took appointment serial for doctor) to sit here. After 30 minutes of waiting (by standing near the door) we got chance to sit on a table. The table was too small but the restaurant staffs want to allocate 4 customer on it which was too discomfort for us. The place is really small then customer demand. Highly recommending - please dont go in weekend or any other holydays.

Stuff: Due to rush, stuffs were literally easy going with the customers. Though they were not rough but still they failed to manage the customer needs when required. Such as, customer keeps waiting on table but waiter took food order after 5-8 minutes. After taking order, again they were late to surve the food. Basically they need to increase both restaurant space along with manpower to surve the customer.

Food Test: We took Bhorta package (150 Taka) based on some food bloggers review. I Don't know what happened today but I found there was lacking of salf on each Bhorta. Beside every bhorta was cold even water was escalated from some Bhorta's. So bhorta was not up to mark. We ordered Duck Kala Bhuna and yes this item was good and kinda achar (Pickles) flavor came from it. This item as also cold but was testly. We asked for Begun Bhaji and shrimp Malaikari, unfortunately it was finished. So we took Pabda fish and Mejbani Beef. Pabda fish was fresh and tests so good. Beef item tests so average and personally I felt that Mejbani Beef should be little more spicy. But above all, they gave Daal in complementary which was really good.

Heard about this place many times but never had the opportunity to go. Went there in this vacation with my childhood friend. The place is decent, it has AC. But It's interior is very old-fashioned. However, the place is spacious.

Coming to their food, they have varieties of bhorta. Their bhorta platter is quite popular. In around 169 tk you can have 11 types of bhorta. Their khichuri platter is also famous. However, we didn’t try any of these. We ordered separately. We took rice, dal, mix veg, chingri bhorta, shutki bhorta, chola r dal diye mutton curry and chingri bhuna.

The bhortas were good. I liked the chingri bhorta, mix veg was fine. Loved its taste. Thr mutton was fabulous. They gave 2 pcs and cost 250/- tk. Pcs are good (average), the gravy was top notch. It's a good item to try. Their chingri bhuna was beyond our expectations. They provided 3pcs and cost 250/- tk. The taste was good and the prawns were fresh.

We had a total bill of 892 or something. It was really affordable and within the budget range. We ate a lot and our stomach was full. Good place to go for lunch and dinner to try authentic...
