Greg Ubert was not happy. The recent Harvard graduate had everything the world expected him to want. A high profile first job in Chicago. A handsome salary. A bright future in computer software. A big city at his feet. Yet just when it seemed he should be on top of the world, he had come to the stinging realization that he just could not fall in love with computer software. Whatās more, many of his colleagues were similarly uninspired.
Was this his future?
Thatās why, at the tender age of 23, Greg Ubert had his first aha moment and made a decision that would change his life. He decided to find a career that inspired and energized him. Then he acted on it.
He began by defining what he really wanted from his work and life and brainstormed his three essential must-haves. They contrasted sharply with his life at the software giant. Greg wanted:
An engaging work life, A fun environment and A culture of giving No small tasks. But as a young man with an economics degree from Harvard, Greg had, of course, a number of options. However, he began thinking about the successful auto detailing service heād run during his summer vacations. Heād enjoyed working with people he liked and helping make his customersā lives just a little bit easier. And it soon became clear that starting his own business was the way to go.
Taking the leap Gregās conventionally promising career in Chicago lasted another year and a half. During that time, he considered many opportunities. But, in the end, specialty coffee was his answer. He decided his mission would be to blend and roast a better cup of coffee. Greg, a true entrepreneur, believed in his concept. āI think it has viability,ā Greg said at the time. āI think people will taste the difference.ā
Together, the three men became one super cupper. While they each had pretty good palettes, Armando had the taste for espresso, Greg had the taste for lattes and mochas and Chris had the taste for drip coffee. Over the course of nine months, they created hundreds of blends in pursuit of that perfect cup.
The result was Armandoās Blend, still Crimson Cupās #1 product.
This was how Greg thought it should work. What he didnāt know was how unique it was. Then, in 1997, he went to a convention in Atlanta. The Crimson Cup booth was set up in the vendorās space, as were many other coffee roasters. During a lull in the day, Greg decided to do a little market research. At the first competitorās booth, he introduced himself. An engaging work life, A fun environment and A culture of giving And truly, everyone who works at Crimson Cup is energized by their customersā successes. They believe they can improve the world and others with their philosophy of L.Y.F.E. (Leave you Feeling Energized) and L.O.V.E. (Leave Others Very Energized). Itās just the Crimson wayā¦
This is an amazing thing; an amazing feeling. And itās a whole lot more interesting than computer software. At least it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNEW DISH ALERT at OG Coffee place CRIMSON CUP is very famous among the youth since 2015. Recently went there and got the opportunity to taste their 2 new items along with my 2 forever favourite drinks. I had : White mocha - 345 tk Frozen Cafe Mocha - 430 tk Chicken Choux Bun - 120 tk Chocolate Eclairs - 160 tk
The Chicken Choux bun and the Chocolate Eclairs are newly added in the menu and my experience with them was quite pleasant.
The Choux bun was very flavourful and fulfilling. It was soft, yet crunchy and buttery. Overall, a very good item that will go with your coffee perfectly.
The Eclairs was a delightful treat. The pastry was flaky, buttery and soft which was generously filled with smooth, creamy custard and topped with rich chocolate ganache. Overall it is a very amazing item for any sweet lover.
Coming to the drinks, both the Hot White Mocha and Frozen Cafe Mocha were amazing as always. The White Mocha had a velvety texture and had a rich flavour of white chocolate and coffee. The Frozen Cafe Mocha, on the other hand, was very refreshing with its blended ice and smooth chocolate taste. The thing i loved most is that, both the drinks had a very subtle sweetness in them which is perfect for people like me who doesn't have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCrimson cup has many branches and whichever branch you go, the consistency of the service is the same, which is good. They are known for their coffee and they can make it well. Other than that you can also get snacks and pastries which is good to have. They also have a smoking zone for people who wants to take a break. The only problem I have which really isn't an issue but my personal issue, and that is that it's too crowded. There are way too many people walking around. But like I said, its a personal issue. Maybe the problem would be solved if they increased the cafe space or think of some way to regulate the bystanders. Because if you are there for work or thinking of reading a book, it's going to be really hard to concentrate. Regardless, I'm giving it a 4 stars because they are good at what they are. The issue I have is really minor and is hard to solve because of...
