This popular spot, though compact, offers a rich and enjoyable dining experience, particularly for those who appreciate seafood delicacies. Atmosphere and Setting The ambiance at Fool’s Diner is one of its strong suits. Situated in Banani, a lively and upscale area in Dhaka, the restaurant’s location adds to its charm. Whether you're arriving in the daytime or the evening, there’s always something energetic about the surroundings. During the evening and night hours, the restaurant’s aesthetic appeal really shines. The lighting and decor create an inviting environment where you can easily snap Instagram-worthy pictures. The restaurant’s exterior and interior blend modern design elements with a warm, cozy feel, making it ideal for casual get-togethers, celebrations, or even a quick solo meal.
One of the best things about Fool’s Diner is the way the lighting and general ambiance shift as the day moves toward night. In the evening, the lighting becomes soft and warm, giving the entire place a more intimate and relaxing vibe. This is the perfect time for taking aesthetic pictures, as the entire setting feels more laid-back yet visually appealing. The evening glow outside, combined with the well-lit yet cozy atmosphere inside, sets the stage for a perfect meal.
That said, there is one area where Fool’s Diner falls a bit short: its seating arrangements. While the ambiance is certainly enjoyable, the seating is on the smaller side. The tables are somewhat compact, which may not be ideal for larger groups or anyone looking for a more spacious dining experience. Despite this, the layout of the restaurant is thoughtfully done, and the compact seating doesn’t detract too much from the overall experience, especially if you’re there for a short meal or with a smaller party.
The Seafood Experience Fool’s Diner really excels in its seafood offerings. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with dishes that highlight fresh, flavorful seafood in a variety of forms. Whether you are a seafood aficionado or someone looking to try something new, Fool’s Diner offers an array of choices that are sure to impress.
One standout dish is their seafood fried rice. The dish is a delightful mix of perfectly cooked rice and an assortment of seafood, including shrimp, squid, and fish. Each bite is flavorful, with the seasoning carefully balanced to enhance the natural taste of the seafood without overpowering it. The seafood fried rice is both comforting and satisfying, making it a popular choice among regulars.
Another must-try dish is the calamari fries. Lightly breaded and fried to perfection, the calamari fries are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served with a tangy dipping sauce, this appetizer is a great way to start your meal. The calamari is fresh and cooked just right, with the breading adding the right amount of crunch without being greasy.
For those who enjoy a combination of flavors and textures, the Pad Thai noodles at Fool’s Diner are a perfect choice. The noodles are stir-fried with an assortment of seafood, vegetables, and a tangy tamarind sauce that gives the dish its signature flavor. The Pad Thai at Fool’s Diner manages to strike the right balance between sweet, salty, and sour, making it a flavorful and enjoyable dish that stands out on the menu.

Read moreok so before I start rating their food and service and whatnot let me start off by saying what they did right that other restaurants usually don't. 1st - The food actually looks as they were advertised. 2nd - They actually served the food hot, yes you heard it right "HOT" this is where a lot of restaurant fails. They served all the food at the right time and in right order. ok now let's move on to what you guys really care about. Items [10/10]: Lemon Juice (not in the picture) Fruits, Soup & Bento Platter (as shown in the picture), Complimentary Ice-Cream (not in the picture) Taste [10/10]: I don't believe in perfection but this came pretty close, I would still rate it 9 but I gave 10 for a reason and I'll explain that in a bit. So anyway the clear soup was really hot when it was served and it was tasty as well. The fruit was very fresh and tasty. Every item on that Bento platter was upto the mark. Sorry I don't know the name of all the items otherwise I would've explained each item by their taste. Quantity: [10/10]: I don't know how much you can eat but I can eat a lot and I can tell you it's more than enough for 1 person. Price [10/10]: I think a lot of you will disagree with me on this one but I would say 785 for this platter is well worth it. From the way it was presented to the number of item they included in this platter was worth the money. Service [10/10]: I would rate their service 11/10 so I added that extra 1 in the taste section so it looks realistic. From the way they take the reservation to how they behave with the customer to how they serve the food was purely mind blowing. Read If you want to section: Now some of you might be wondering why would anyone spend so much time reviewing foods no one really care about? Well, what can I say, I love writing and I got way too much time on my hand to waste. Some of you might even say this is a paid review, no it isn't. What kind of fool would pay someone to give unrealistic ratings of 10/10? With that being said if you do go and visit the restaurant based on this review and don't like the food then don't come and blame me, my taste bud is different than yours and I didn't ask you to go and try their food.

Read moreThe short version: you are a fool if you choose to eat here
The full story: from start to finish my trip to Fool's Diner was extremely disappointing. The place was empty when my friend and I walked in for a late lunch. We ordered our drinks first and asked for those to be served while we waited for our food dishes to come. After waiting for a while, I asked the waiter about the drinks and it turned out that he had forgotten about them.
When the first item came, we had to ask for plates which the waiter reluctantly gave us. We had ordered several items to be shared and I thought it was normal that we would eat from our own plates instead of from the dish in the middle of the table.
When the next items came, I had to ask for serving spoons. The waiter initially refused by saying that they don't give spoons and that we should use our own fork and chopsticks. It was only when I asked how I was supposed to pick up the sauce/gravy with a fork when he reluctantly agreed to bring us ONE spoon for the one dish with sauce.
The food itself was very average. The California rolls were mostly just cabbage. The Mongolian Beef was rubbery and the Pad Thai was mushy and overcooked. I suspect that the kitchen had simply reheated leftovers from lunch time.
If this was a typical Bangladeshi restaurant, I would not have these complaints. But Fool's Diner is not an average restaurant. Our bill came to almost two thousand takas for two people which is in the higher range. If you are going to charge this much money, the quality of the food and the service should match your prices. And your waiter should not be arguing when you ask for plates and cutlery.
The one thing that is perfect about Fool's Diner is their name. You are a fool if...
