Next level budget friendly place in Dhanmondi —Rice bowls within 100 taka!
📍2no road Dhanmondi, Yum cha/ dominoes building 11th floor. CrunCheese Bangladesh Butter - The Bakery
As usual the yumcha crowd couldn’t keep us waiting so we went on trying this new place. We were kinda surprised to see such budget friendly place with amazing seating arrangements. It’s like a food court!
Tried their CHEESTAR CHIC O TIME. 199BDT (recommended) 9/10 . It was basically fried goods but the roasted potato cubes coated with some masala tasted nice. Not too much loaded sauce. It was nice!
SPICY GARLIC MUSHROOM - 160 bdt as usual I bet there was half a can of mushrooms used the price should be lessened. Tasted normal 5/10.
Butter Chicken polao bdt 199 6/10 The polao was aromatic and what we say “Jhorjhora polao” it was the nicest shada polao ever. But the butter chicken tasted nothing like actual butter chicken it tasted a little sour but good!
Mexican rice bowl bdt 100 😱 8/10 The rice again was nice and jhorjhora. Small pieces of chicken and good. The amount of rice was perfect that we felt so full!
Well given the price we cannot expect much but I was amazed by their quantity and the ambience. Well however I’m no food blogger, taste varies from people to people. But would recommend to go for fry bowls...
Read moreWe're particularly trying but Cruncheese and their Mexican Rice Bowl.
It comes with a bowl of Mexican fried rice that is orange in color and three pieces of BBQ chicken. It also has some veggies and eggs mixed inside them, so if you are allergic to eggs - don't try this. But if you aren't go ahead, it's only BDT190 and BDT215 with VAT. It tasted pretty good, the BBQ chicken was the best. You could cheaper rice bowls elsewhere, like at Shimanto Shombhar, but the best part about Chefmate is the ambience - you have pretty cool decorations and an open view from the 11th story. Pretty neat. It also isn't as noisy and crowded as Shimanto Shombhar is.
Pros: Amazing ambience and views, really good place to vibe Usually quiet ambience Abundance of seating arrangements Decent food in terms of taste, texture, and amount Open smoking zone with a wonderful view, great place for taking pics
Cons: Relatively expensive for a rice bowl, but the whole restaurant is expensive, this was the best bang for your buck item Slow service, took me 20 minutes to wait for the rice bowl, but luckily I stole a friend's rice bowl in the first 5 minutes
Verdit: 7/10: The food is good, but not the best by a far margin. The ambience is a really chill place to vibe and Cruncheese is probably the best restaurant...
