Nestled in the heart of Gulshan, Goong The Castle is an elegant Korean dining experience that transports you to a different world the moment you step in. The restaurant's ambience is a blend of traditional Korean aesthetics and modern luxury, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The decor at Goong The Castle is truly a feast for the eyes. The restaurant is designed to resemble a traditional Korean castle, with intricate woodwork, soft lighting, and tasteful artwork adorning the walls. The seating is comfortable, with both private dining areas and communal tables, making it suitable for intimate dinners or larger gatherings. The menu at Goong The Castle is extensive, offering a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes. The highlight is undoubtedly the barbecue, where diners can grill their own meats at the table. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, with the beef and pork being particularly tender and flavorful. The side dishes (banchan) are plentiful and varied, providing a perfect complement to the main dishes. The kimchi, a staple of Korean cuisine, is well-prepared and has the right balance of spice and tanginess.
For those less inclined towards barbecue, the menu also offers a range of other traditional dishes such as bibimbap, japchae, and various stews. The seafood pancake (haemul pajeon) is crispy and generously filled with fresh seafood, while the spicy tofu stew (soondubu jjigae) is comforting and rich in flavor.
The service at Goong The Castle is attentive and polite, with staff members eager to explain the menu and offer recommendations. They are quick to respond to requests and ensure that the dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. However, during peak hours, the service can be slightly slower due to the high volume of diner.
Goong The Castle is on the pricier side, especially compared to other dining options in Gulshan. However, considering the quality of the food, the unique dining experience, and the elegant setting, it offers good value for money. It's a place where you go not just to eat, but to savor a culinary journey.

Read moreThe service is awful, train your staff better to treat all customers equally. We clearly saw beer being served in the table in front of us but when we asked they lied and told us they don't serve it. When asked to package one of the dishes we ordered, they took it away and practically forgot about it until reminded, yet in one of the tables in the same room serving foreigners, the waiter took no time at all to attentively package the dish in question right in front of them. Before walking in we asked if parking is available, to which the guards said yes. However, when we came out of the restaurant our car was parked outside despite telling our driver to park inside. There were still free spots in the parking area but the only cars parked there seemed to be airport rental cars. After all of that they had the audacity to charge a 10% service fee.

Read moreThis is a great place to try out some authentic Korean cuisine. The ambiance is nice and they have options for separate rooms for large groups, as well as normal dining space. Their menu is quite vast and as this place tends to attract a lot of foreigners, they ensure that the products are cooked in authentic fashion and presented accordingly. The service is quite good, very responsive. I asked if they could give me a poached egg separately (as it was not on the menu), but they said it was not possible, however, later they gave us some egg soufflés, and that too on the house! This seemed like a really good gesture from the staff. The food was well prepared, clean, and presented well, and most importantly, tasted delicious. Their duck was especially good, wouldn't mind having that again and again. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this...
