I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Espana in Mallorca, and it was an exceptional experience that I can’t recommend highly enough. This gem of a place offers genuine local charm and serves some of the most amazing tapas I’ve ever tasted. From the moment you walk in, you are enveloped by the warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the essence of Mallorca. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels right at home. The tapas at Bar Espana are simply outstanding. Each dish is a delightful celebration of local flavors, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether it’s the succulent jamón, the perfectly seasoned patatas bravas, or the mouthwatering gambas al ajillo, every bite is a testament to the culinary expertise and passion of the kitchen. What truly sets Bar Espana apart is its authenticity. This is not just a place to eat, but a place to experience the true spirit of Mallorcan cuisine. The attention to detail in both the food and the ambiance creates an unforgettable dining experience. Bar Espana is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, authentic local tapas in a genuinely welcoming setting. I look forward to many more visits in the future!

We came because of the good reviews and we weren't disappointed! We were a table of 6 and the restaurant was very busy but we got a table straight away. The menu wasn't in English but our server offered to order us a best selection from the menu to share as a table. The food was amazing! We had a selection of pintos which included bread topped with chorizo, sardines, brie, avocado, iberico ham and tuna in different quantities and then tapas such as three types of cheese, ham, grilled pork, tomato bread, patatas bravas, salted chilli peppers, sweet chilli prawns in filo pastry and spanish omelette. Every dish was excellent and if we had chosen dishes ourselves we wouldnt have been nearly as adventurous, so I'd suggest trying things that you aren't familiar with, because all of the food is excellent anyway. I should also note that we had someone in our party with a gluten intolerance and the kitchen catered for him very well and adapted the dishes for him so we had two versions of the dishes we were served. Excellent all round!

As a tourist, my experience with the customer service at this restaurant was far from satisfactory. The waitress tried communicating with us in English, but it was a struggle. Unfortunately, only a few staff members could speak English, and we ended up in a section where none of them could. The waitress spoke very quickly and seemed to be in a hurry. She walked off multiple times while asking questions and taking our order, which felt very rude. We also had to ask for the bill four or five times and actually had to get up and confronted the waitress directly to pay. This restaurant serves tapas, and I had high expectations. However, the food was a major letdown. The patatas bravas, priced at €8, were simply plain potatoes baked with cocktail sauce and salt. We also had the flatbread, which was overly salty. Additionally, we ordered two broken egg dishes that were €11 and also excessively salty and not worth eating, in my opinion. The prices were too high for the quality and quantity of food we received. The only dish that was somewhat enjoyable was the tumbet. The crispy king prawn dish was a joke; it contained just one mini shrimp for €5.15. Overall, this was not a good experience. The food did not live up to the expectations of the lovely Spanish cuisine I had hoped for, which is a shame.

This probably has to be one of my favourite place to have gone for drinks and dinner. Starting with the vibe, the team running the place were friendly, warm and welcoming that even as a tourist you felt like you were a local. The atmosphere is amazing - the bar is buzzing with friendly people creating a lovely happy vibe. Only downside is trying to get a table after 8/8:30pm... We stratigically got there just before 7:30 to ensure we got a table. Going onto the food. Absolutely amazing tapas. As vegetarians we had enough choice and left the place stuffed! I would highly recommend the tortilla as it has to be the best i've had in Spain so far. Also costs wise, it was probably the best and most cheapest meal in the week we were there. 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine and 7 tapas dishes between the 2 of us was less that €35. I would happily go back!

Very "buzzy" and super fast we got very very lucky with 2 seats at the bar, book and know what you want in advance (check menu online) is advisable. Though I tend to order with my eyes. We were served by 3 different people, first lady wouldn't wait, got lost in translation with the bar man, however the food here really is amazing, very fresh, my friend loved the crispy prawn so the roadrunner service is worth it. Hands down, one of the best burgers i have ever eaten, the fries were a revelation. the frittata did not stay on my plate for very long! I could have gone for 2. We had a cod dish with lime that made me want to go pescatarian. The G&T was heavy on the G Only downside was scanning for the translation. Tucked away off a side street.

Absolutely loved it. It was a Monday night and the place was buzzing. I booked online and I'm glad I did. There were queues to get in (on a Monday, out of season). We were seated straight away and the service really was excellent. Beer, Vermouth and a magical selection of food. I have eaten in many places in Palma but this one really tops the bill for me. It is exactly what I am looking for in Mallorca. Right up my street. And, you can see that the prices were very reasonable indeed. My new favourite place to eat. I'm a regular in Palma and this is going to be my new local. Yep: 2 months later and we were back again. We tried a few different things this time and they were all good. Still great service and wonderful atmosphere.
