Burger Boutique Antwerp — Restaurant in Antwerp

Please don't call yourself a Boutique, maybe a Burger Shack would be more appropriate.

Before I start my rant, let me just say that the guy (he only spoke English, no issue for us, but might be an issue for older Belgians that dont speak english) who was there did a good job trying to run the entire place by himself.

I can only assume the chef called in sick so he had to salvage whatever there was to salvage. Saw him on his phone too, I guess it was his manager telling him to make due.

Place was ice cold, heating was broken ? I had to keep my jacket on the entire time. We were the first ones in - so we got our food after 30 mins which is sort of fine, but the people that came in after us weren't that lucky.

Food in itself was good, not sure if I would think it is necessarily better than any other burger place (I'm not talking fastfood chains here, but proper burger places).

I also took the bonemarrow extra which had about half a dessert spoon of bonemarrow in it.

I can only assume that the good reviews are from people that went on a day that the heating wasn't broken and the chef did not...

When I visited this place with my husband, there was a young woman working alone, handling both cooking and serving. I had high hopes for the burgers grilled on a large BBQ grill, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

First of all, the top bun was warm, but the bottom bun was completely cold. At that point, I already knew this wasn’t going to be good. Also, I didn’t like the taste of the buns themselves. I had asked for sautéed onions to be added to the burger, but when I tasted it, I couldn’t detect any onion flavor at all. When I opened the bun, I found an almost unnoticeable amount of finely chopped, sautéed onions inside.

Of course, I understand that everyone has different tastes, and I don’t expect my opinion to apply to everyone. However, once I found the bun was cold, I knew I would never come back. Serving hot food that is already cold is, to me, an...

We planned to eat here after a full day of activities in and around Antwerp.

Since we were travelling with our dog, we had to make sure we found a good place where she was also welcome.

After sending a message on Instagram. I quickly got a most friendly and welcoming reply and so the choice was easily made.

Being located in a nice area also helped.

Once we entered, we got the same warm welcome from the kind lady in the kitchen, which you can see from your table.

She took our drinks and burger order and started on them on the massive Green Egg. The result was a nice and tasty burger that was fresh and juicy.

The atmosphere was cozy with a good vibe and music.

Only sad point was that we were so tired of our day that we couldn’t stay longer for dessert.
