We had the privilege of experiencing Zilte in Antwerp this December, and it was truly a memorable evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm and professional welcome from the family, which immediately made us feel at ease as they led us to our seats in the lounge. However, one small disappointment was that we did not have the opportunity to greet or thank the chef personally, which we had hoped to do.
The interior is both elegant and cozy, blending seamlessly with the ambiance of the evening, and the view of the Antwerp skyline at night was absolutely captivating. Unfortunately, the weather outside was rather severe, preventing us from fully appreciating the grandeur of the city's architectural landmarks. However, we were still able to recognize the cathedral and the beautiful train station from a distance.
In addition to the exquisite amuse-bouches, I would like to highlight the house cocktail, which has earned a place on my personal top-tier list—no surprise, given my fondness for whisky. Sommelier Moeraert and his team have perfected this creation, and it was truly a delightful experience.
The wine pairing at Zilte was also exceptional. The sommelier provided insightful and personalized recommendations for each course, enhancing the overall dining experience. His expertise in matching wines with the dishes demonstrated a deep understanding of flavor profiles and greatly elevated our meal.
For those who appreciate fish and seafood, this restaurant is undoubtedly a must-visit. The kitchen excels in treating its ingredients with the utmost care, and the food pairings and cooking techniques were impeccable. We had an outstanding experience throughout the entire menu. Both the Imperial Caviar dish and the Mussel dish will remain etched in my memory—absolutely sublime.
In conclusion, Zilte offers a high-end, unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone with a passion for fine dining and exceptional...
Read moreIn the beginning it was quite a challenge to reach the restaurant at all, since we took the escalator instead of patiently waiting for someone to take us to the entrance of the restaurant via the elevator. But once in it was all forgotten! 😅 We had a fantastic evening! The food was delicious—rich in flavour yet wonderfully subtle—and the service was warm and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a cosy and inviting atmosphere. We appreciated that there were other couples dining as well, rather than just business diners.
The interior felt warm and stylish, with excellent acoustics and a well-balanced layout. The open kitchen added a nice touch of transparency, while the seating arrangement ensured enough privacy for us to fully focus on the dishes and wines.
Because I prefer savoury over sweet, I opted for a cheese course instead of the two dessert courses for a small supplement. My dining companion, however, chose both sweet courses, which meant we could still share and taste a bit of everything!
We especially liked that when choosing champagne and dessert wines, different qualities and price points were clearly presented, so there were no unexpected surprises. It was also great to have the option of a well-thought-out alcohol-free pairing for one of the courses.
The tableside presentations and preparations added a fun and special touch, and the (assistant) sommelier was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We felt truly welcome and enjoyed our evening. We very much hope to return...
Read moreWhat an experience. On top of the MAS but you are welcomed on ground floor and directed with private lift directly to the restaurant. The aperitif is offered on terasse with a view when it’s sunny or in nice salon. They already propose 3 very nice champagnes or standard one. The amuse are amazing all served and dressed at the table. You already know from there that you will tastes things you never before due to the complexity of the associations and from the selections of products. The menu itself is wonderful. The sommelier propose for each dishes 2 or 3 selections that you can choose. His card wine is also super elaborated with very good selection quality / price. The service is perfect and even the chef himself comes to dress some of the dishes. The quail and the wagyu with ormeau were wonderful. The experience with 3 preparation with Belgian car oar is wow. The combo with nuts butter and their aged caviar is the best I never had. Desserts are also very good. Not to mention but the service is perfect and I couldn’t really describe it as it was so smooth present and perfect. They were all pro simple and friendly. They are all knowledgeable on the products and the menu as well as the wine. Finally some dish - Brill lobster – yuzu kosho – bimi – smoked bone marrow- was a bit too complex for me and I couldn’t understand how the dishes talked to each other. But like nobody has same taste, that was only mine. But at the end it’s a unique experience that I will...
