STORM food drinks events — Restaurant in Antwerp

The third time I’ve come here: it’s a potentially beautiful setting to enjoy a meal or drink by the docks. Alas, I was very disappointed to have once more experienced:

1. staff who do not acknowledge you when you enter their cafe
2. staff who continue to make it hard to be noticed when you try to make an order, and whose service is very slow
3. tables either barren (no menus, no place mats, chairs missing) or messy with previous customers’ rubbish; making it quite unclear where you should go and sit
4. a robotic, utilitarian attitude from the staff: no smiles, no attempt at even the most modest human warmth, some condescending and surreal remarks (“will you bring us a menu?” , “only if you’re going to order food”). The place has great potential, but I ended up walking a bit further up the docks to find an independent brunch cafe where the staff effortlessly matched a warm welcome with good food in splendid...

I’m really surprised with the friendly service here. Regarding the famous spot MAS museum, I didn’t expect great experience before visiting, only want to sit for a cup of coffee. But starting with the first seconds until I left the restaurant, at least 3 waiters gave me nice and helpful feelings during the whole time I stayed. Also the tuna salad I ordered had very good taste and enough portion. People work there are polite, friendly and they respect the guests. Visiting Antwerp as tourists. Needed lunch and as we were walking past the MAS Museum we tried the Storm restaurant. Very friendly, efficient staff whose English was far better than our Belgian!
