I had a very weird and unpleasant interaction there. Went for the pastries downstairs and the lady said we could go upstairs and she would bring the pastries. I said hello to the lady working upstairs and we asked if it was okay to sit because we ordered pastries from downstairs, she said yes and that we could have a sit. So we sat, then the man asked us if we wanted anything to drink something. We politely said no, he asked again and we said that we were fine, so he just rushed out of there before we were even able to finish our phrase. We didn’t want anything to drink because we went there exclusively for the pastries, to eat and enjoy it and for that the girl downstairs told us to go upstairs. When he came back with the pastries he asked “are you going to share?” And we said yes and he laughed. The reason why he laughed is still to this day unknown. Is there a crime to share pastries? I think not, but okay. We went to pay with the lady and the amount was so odd because it was 22, but we ordered pastries that everything should cost 14 euros. We thought it was weird and we asked the girl downstairs but she said she has no idea and it might have been a service fee. But a service fee of 8 euros sounds a little excessive, no? The experience itself was unpleasant and tense and we had no idea what we did wrong since the moment we sat down and to be honest I feel like the girl downstairs should’ve been more clear that we had to have something there or to pay a fee. Just saying for future situations where people might get confused.
Reply to the answer the place gave:
I didn’t open the menu because we said to you we didn’t want to drink anything and said thank you for offering, but you could’ve said something about the fee since you knew we weren’t going to open the menu. Also, the girl downstairs said we could go upstairs to eat but didn’t mention a fee, never. Just when we asked her after paying the bill and going downstairs that she said: “maybe he had a fee, I’m not sure”. So if you had a sign saying it had a fee, why she wasn’t sure about that? Also, a discount for the fee so the fee itself is 15€? Oh gosh. And about you being rude, I don’t think that was any kind of lost in...
Read moreWonderfully welcoming and warm service from the manager/owner(?) as well as the wait staff. Got the cheese and charcuterie platter, along with 2 glasses of wine - all very good. Based on my experience this is clearly a locals favorite so I was happy to experience it. I had planned to get there early enough to perhaps snag a seat outside (it was a beautiful day) but I was delayed and ended up being seated upstairs which, to me, has a really odd vibe with all the steel poles etc. I appreciate that the building is historic, but I didn't feel cozy at...
Read moreThis place was so cool. I love the concept and the whole vibe. it feels like an adventure when you enter this place kind of like a labyrinth because you don’t expect to find stairs all the way to the top of the building. The bakery in the first floor is spectacular They have a very good selection of bread, I got two so I can share it with my boyfriend and I admit it was delicious. The coffee we got was in point and the service was amazing. That girl seemed to run the whole place she was doing awesome very sweet too. I would...
