Excellent location and within walking distance of lots of shopping, bakeries and Museums. Also a good pickup spot outside for taxis so convenient for travelling further afield to the best restaurants in Antwerp (there are so many.)
The service person at reception I met was very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, the hotel does not look as good as the pictures.
Front door is not apparent and in a small recessed doorway between two display areas of a boutique below.
Stepping out of the lift to reception, there is a boggy smell of dead water somewhere and not at all pleasant. (It did not smell in the room, just in all the common parts.)
Furniture was tired with stains in the fabric. Table surfaces at taken a beating.
In my room itself, the skirting boards were badly scuffed, chunks missing in the bathroom. Looked like some areas had water damage. The bathroom is decorated completely black and I nearly missed the shower as you access it via a small doorway from the main bathroom area. The toilet has a door that closes, but the bathroom is not it's own room. It is just separated by a wall screen.
Water in the water bottle did not appear to be a fresh bottle, just a bottle that had been refilled as the seal on the bottle was broken although the water bottle full?
If you went to stay for a romantic weekend you'd be really disappointed. But if it was just to sleep and leave,...
Read moreVery disappointed with Hotel Les Nuits in Antwerp, especially given the high ratings (8.3 on Booking, 4.3 on Google). For the price, the quality is lacking. The rooms are poorly designed, with no doors for the bathroom or toilet, and the toilet space was so cramped my husband (180 cm) couldn’t sit comfortably. The room was also extremely noisy, with sounds from the hallway and the busy street outside. As someone who lives in Paris, I’m used to a noisy city, but I expect to sleep well in an expensive hotel—this was not the case.
Breakfast was another disappointment. It’s extremely basic and overpriced at €25. On the morning of my breakfast a large group of 30 people was having breakfast in a separate room, near the buffet, the doors were open, so the noise was overwhelming for a quiet Saturday morning. When I asked the staff to close the doors, the person in charge was dismissive and said it wasn’t possible because of the passage through the doors. I mentioned that it was a bit much for such an expensive breakfast, and he rudely replied that it wasn’t his fault and he couldn’t control the group.
I stay in many hotels, and the most important thing for me is the room’s acoustics. For over €200 per night, I expected more—at the very least, a quiet, comfortable room and better service during breakfast. Sadly, this stay didn’t meet...
Read moreWe had a super breakfast in this hotel! We received a voucher for "breakfast with bubbles" and chose this hotel to try it out because of the food reviews and perfect location. We were welcomed by 2 super friendly persons who made us feel immediately welcome and comfortable. The room where breakfast is served is very cozy and nicely decorated. It feels like home, really. The buffet was plenty with all top quality products. Each of the items we tried was top in its category. The cava that was served with the breakfast was very fruity and perfectly balanced to accompany a breakfast. My guess is that this hotel has a very talented person choosing top products and a skilled team to prepare it well. During breakfast we were a well offered a choice of soft boiled or scrambled eggs, fruit juices and a delicious home made smoothie.. So to conclude: a really great place to have wonderful breakfast in a calm cozy atmosphere....
