We were having trouble finding a restaurant open past 8:30 pm and came across Jam (by Night). Our server was friendly, and the menu was small but with an amazing variety of unique dishes. We were given fresh bread with seasoned butter to start. My partner is vegetarian so we only ordered veggie items. They were all so creative and well thought-out… We shared four dishes: seaweed salad with cucumber and marinated grilled watermelon, grilled fennel with white bean puree, roasted capers, and caramel used pine nuts, smoked halloumi with roasted beets and pickled radish, and Japanese risotto with mushrooms and seaweed. Each dish was beautiful and delicious, rivaling menu items on much more “upscale” (i.e. expensive) restaurants. After such a great meal we had to get dessert, and opted for the grilled nectarine that came with whipped mascarpone, ginger, and crispy caramel cookie. Just steps away from the Cathedral we never expected to find such flavorful and one of a kind dishes. Definitely recommend eating here...
Read moreHave you ever stumbled upon a hidden gem just before entering the bustling city? That's exactly what happened when I discovered this place. Yet, my expectations were met with mediocrity. The royal sandwich and jam breakfast lacked that spark of uniqueness; they were pleasant but failed to leave a lasting impression. I found myself searching for something exceptional, a standout element that could justify the regal ambiance.
Just as I was about to label the meal as unremarkable, a glimmer of excellence appeared—the cappuccinos. These delightful creations elevated the entire experience. With every sip, I was transported to a world of rich flavors and velvety textures. In a sea of average, the cappuccinos shone like a beacon of...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience. It felt like coming home, but with a mom who can cook very well (sorry mom)! The atmosphere was cosy, casual and very welcoming, the food was really good - I especially liked the specials of the day, those were excellent - and the service was top tier! The food the chef prepared was exciting and bold, I like it when people try out stuff. They clearly succeeded here. I mean, it's also about all the small things they asked and did to make me feel taken care of that made this place a MUST visit in Antwerp. Seats are limited this time around, so make sure you're there on the right...
