Marolus — Restaurant in Antwerp

Marolus is a good coffeebar. The reviews I read stated a must-come to adress for high tea. Ok. As I am really found of Afternoon tea, we gave it a go. A bit dissappointed. Not about the amount we got, 4 different cakes, 2 scones, a variety of toasts. But disappointed about the quality. The toasts were dry, or "wet" because it was prepared 20 minutes before we arrived. The cake was good, but really heavy. It's a cosy setting, but ask for a table on the first floor away from the door. It was good to try, but I prefer quality...

A lovely spot for high tea in Antwerp. It's a very cozy and charming little place. The staff is friendly, and the sweets are delicious. However, I wasn't impressed with the savory wraps and croques that were included in the package. It's €40 per person, which I find a bit too expensive for what you get. Place is quite ok. My salmon sandwich was delicious. However, in my opinion, some overpriced things on the menu. A croque monsieur (2 simple ham and cheese tosti's), €9.50. Homemade iced tea: €5.5. Furthermore, although the place was absolutely not full, it took around 30 minutes to prepare these 2 dishes, which is slightly on the long side.
