Located in a perfect spot of Antwerp and managed by the highly attentive Nicolas, this was easily my best hotel stay ever. The room (Burgundian suite) oozes historical charm while including all the mod cons such as touch screen light and heating settings, modern bathroom with shower and a kitchenette which includes a mini bar stocked with various beers, wines, cava and champagne (at a price, although very low) which can be enjoyed on the spacious terrace. Tea and coffee making facilities are available which are free of charge (as is still and sparkling water). The breakfast was an extravagant affair. Each room has two tables allocated to them, one of which contains a rich selection of cheeses, cold cut meats, smoked salmon, jams and spreads, Viennoiseries, yogurts and a fruit salad, the other of which includes granola and half a seeded loaf and which is then supplied further with pancakes and maple syrup. Fresh orange juice, tea and coffee promptly follow. Each guest is also asked for their egg preference (hard or soft boiled, scrambled, fried or omelette with the options of plain, vegetable and bacon). Read moreThis is by far the nicest suite/hotel I have ever stayed in. The Holy Roman Empire suite is beautifully appointed, with the option of a double bed and two singles, or two doubles. The room itself is beautifully decorated, and is excellently furnished, with two televisions, a living area, a kitchenette, a dining table. On top of this there are two bathrooms, both with showers and toilets which is very useful. Plenty of towels and robes are available, and a well stocked and reasonably priced minibar. The fridge is also available for guests to use. The beds themselves are very comfortable. The place is modern with good technology, no shortage of hot water, and a good shower pressure as well. Complementary water/tea/coffee is available, and there is a little welcome packet with chocolates and a pen in. The little touches are appreciated. Downstairs the tavern is nice, with good food and reasonably priced. The owner, Nicolas, is very friendly as well and helpful, as are the staff. Finally the location is amazing in the city centre, just two minutes from the Grand-Place. I cannot recommend this...
