LizzyK Special — Restaurant in Antwerp

We went in a group of 8, the wait time was about 30-40 mins, the food was not too bad and the portions were quite large. However we had a bad experience with the owner, we got drinks and on opening them, the drinks (orijin in glass bottle) had a smell of camphor which is a round ball used for preserving clothes. We explained at first to the attendant who said,‘I don’t drink so I have no idea what it smells or tastes like’. We asked the table next to us who also confirmed they couldn’t drink theirs as it smelt the same. Upon getting our bill, the drinks were added and we pointed it out to the owner who became defensive and told us, ‘she bought the drinks and it wasn’t her fault’, we had to explain that the drinks were not even drinkable so we wouldn’t be paying for it as it wasn’t our fault. Walked in for lunch on a Thursday and the owner couldn’t even stop her frivolous conversation to greet me.

I sat down and waited over 20 minutes while she talked to other patrons and even took a phone call.

Never once did the owner say hello or offer a menu to have me look over. The service experienced here isn’t just unprofessionally informal but rude.

How a business runs like this I do not understand.

After 20 minutes of wasted time, I decided to leave and support another restaurant.

Be careful with those pictures. The food I ordered on the 24/10/2023 had no taste. No seasoning, . When I gave my honest reviews to the owner, she blocked my number on WhatsApp. Paid 68 euros for four tasteless dishes plus being made to pay 20 euros extra for transportation to hotel for 2km distance.
