Waffles And Sandwiches — Restaurant in Bruges

The guy who ran this place was a complete a$$hole!

As tourists, we were walking around with a bunch of chocolates and drinks in our hands. We came in to order fries. He let us order and immediately after we paid he kicked us out! We asked why, and he told us because we had a drink and water bottle from other establishments. We explained we had lots of foods and drinks/water bottles from other establishments and other places didn’t seem to mind. He told us we weren’t welcome here. Meanwhile, there were 2 males in the restaurant not consuming any food or drinks and were welcome to stay. I would NOT supporting this restaurant.

It appeared the place was owned by this elderly white male with white hair. He may have had a Scottish accent. After our encounter, even the young male who served us and apologized for his boss’ behavior.

As a Belgian person, I already had my doubts at the quality of the food when I saw they were both serving fries and waffles simultaneously, but we just went ahead as we were craving something sweet and didn't check reviews of the place. Can confirm that the elder man serving is incredibly rude, even if you speak his language. We had drinks that we weren't drinking from (just need water on you to stroll in Bruges on a summer day) , yet he rudely demanded us to leave directly instead of suggesting to order something to drink. I got incredibly upset at his mannerism and explained him the situation, while revealing to him that his waffles aren't even made on the spot (might as well buy them straight from the supermarket). Boycot the place and don't come here, this kind of experience ruins your nice visit to Bruges...

Avoid this place at all cost and worst service that is worse than none and no respect to customers - it was mid morning - my husband and I were not too hungry so just wanted a quick snack. We ordered a portion of chips and used the washroom to wash hands - before we left we were saying thanks to the elderly person behind the counter with smile. He replied by shouting at us saying people like you order so little makes the shop lose money and he then said you should go back to your own country..... We were shocked at his rudeness and feel truly sorry if he so dislikes tourists maybe best for him not to live off tourists in such a touristy town and then behave badly...
