Afrikana restaurant — Restaurant in Brussels

I can’t experience often African food in my city because of a lack of diversity. After this visit I will be looking for this kind of food, with the hopes of experiencing something like this again.

First of all the service was fast and kind, the food was delicious with a great presentation. Personally I love eating through the eyes as much as with my mouth, so this just improved my experience. The moandan chicken was juicy and very tasty, I couldn’t stop eating the rice with the sauce, I have to learn the recipe ! My only complaints would be that the goat and the manioc were a bit dry.

Also the atmosphere was great, the decoration is nice to the eyes and the music was with the perfect volume and very enjoyable.

I can only recommend this...

Beautiful interior design, and the service of the two young ladies was excellent.

The waiting time for the main dish was 1 1/4h but since we had a starter it was still ok.

However, the price of the vegetarian dish is outrageous in my eyes. Half of the plate is filled with a bland salad topped with a generic dressing, and none of the individual items on the plate were particularly outstanding in taste. And if we wouldn't have ordered a starter and if my friend wouldn't have shared all his fried plantain with me, I would have been very hungry still.

For this price either the quality or the quantity would need to increase to make me want...

Lieu très sympa pour un repas en amoureux, entre amis ou en famille !

La décoration est moderne et sur le thème de l'Afrique. Pourriez-vous pousser ce thème jusque dans les liens d'aisance ? Un coup de peinture, un petit meuble en coin pour stocker les rouleaux de papier toilette et les outils. Et, éventuellement, des petites serviettes enroulées pour s'essuyer les mains...

L'accueil y est agréable et la serveuse était au petit soin. Petit bémol : nous avons reçu nos entrées en même temps que nos plats. En outre, le délai d'attente entre la commande des boissons et leurs réception était un chouïa trop long.

Quant aux plats: j'ai pris le tilapia avec des frites de patates douces, salade et sauce verte. Le tilapia était extraordinairement bien assaisonné ! Les frites de patates douces étaient croustillantes et délicieuses ! La salade d'accompagnement était succulente ! D'habitude, je ne mange jamais de salade au restaurant car, souvent, elle n'a pas de goût et ne qu'à "remplir" l'assiette. Mais votre salade, Africana, est parfaite. Je termine, enfin, par la dernière touche et pas des moindres : votre fameuse sauce verte ! J'en ai vidé trois ! NE DIVULGUER NI LA RECETTE COMPLÈTE NI LE MOYEN DE S'EN PROCURER AILLEURS 😁

En conclusion, malgré quelques améliorations à apporter (notamment sur la rapidité de réceptions des commandes), Africana est totalement dans le thème de l'Afrique et, plus particulièrement, du Congo et vos plats (en tout cas, le mien!) sont une poésie. Vous m'avez fait voyager... Et il fut un incroyable ❤️
