Café Charbon — Restaurant in Brussels

I leave this review to remark a sexist comment/attitude from certain staff of this bar. I (female) went on 15th june with my partner (male) and a friend (female). My friend and I ordered two beers, while my partner ordered a strawberry juice since he doesn't drink alcohol. For some reason, the waiter found this EXTREMELY funny, and had the need to remark (even switching from French to English to make sure we understood the comment): 'hoh, so the women order beer and YOU, the man, gets a strawberry juice?'. I didn't find it funny at all and asked him whether he could not order whatever he wanted. No apologies given, the waiter just walked away. These discriminatory remarks, happening in no less than one of the most LGBTQIA-friendly areas of Brussels, should be COMPLETELY out of the question. Not coming back to this bar and will do my best to inform my close...

Great atmosphere, good sevice. But the food is terrible. We just ordered our food and in the next five minutes, the food was already there... Penne needs longer time than that to cook. Penne with gorgonzola. Microwave and where was the the gorgonzola?? I had the American préparé. Couldn't taste the meat at all because of al the mustard. Which makes it very sad because the did chop the meat very finely. The fries were awfully from the freezer. And the mayonaise was disgusting. Too bad. Charming café in the heart of Brussels, located a quick walk from Grand Place.

I ordered a beer on tap, which was a bit watered down but still refreshing. For my meal, I had the chicken and potatoes. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were nicely roasted.
