We initially hadn’t done a lot of research and walked into this beautiful outlet with awe about the aesthetic decor they used. But soon, the very helpful gentleman at the counter gave us a brief history and also told us how they were in the chocolate business for more than a century. They have a wide array of chocolate for you to try out and we ended up purchasing a few, again based on the recommendations of their staff. The recommendations really didn’t disappoint and were spot on to say the least. I’m leave a few tips to get the best recommendations: - Ask the staff what chocolates would they take for a loved one for an <occasion > - Ask what would they recommend for someone who likes a little bit of bitter/ sweet or salty aftertaste

On of the best chocolates in Brussels. Highly recommended 👌

đŸ«Authentic, Flavorful ChocolateđŸ« Wow. I have a major sweet tooth, and have tried my fair share of chocolate--but the flavor profile from Chocolaterie Mary is something else. There's something "pure" about it, almost like you can test the veneer of cacao nib "smokiness" in every bite. Even the white chocolate contains this texture. I enjoyed the chocolate caramel, white, and dark (88%). Each chocolate square is individually wrapped in premium-style packaging, emblazoned with a golden M. Then, the squares are tastefully assembled in a petite, white gift box with a removable lid for storage and transport. It makes a wonderful keepsake to remember the experience by. Highly recommended!

Stay away from this shop due to awful customer service from an old lady!

  1. After you picked up a wrapped product and put it back, the lady immediately adjust the product position which made you feel like you shouldn’t touch the box.

  2. There were lots of different chocolate flavour but you would never get recommendation as the lady said it was subjective. But when you asked which was popular/best-seller (which should be objective), she again refused it and said it was your own choice. How come a new customer to the brand know what to try for the first time?

  3. When choosing the chocolate, I pointed to the direction of the chocolate or its product tag to be clear. The ladies stopped us and said it was the store rule because some customers would touch the chocolate. If that’s the case and the store rule, the store should put up a tag/a ticket clearing stating no pointing, or simply just put all chocolate in a fully sealed display box!

  4. I decided to choose only 2 pieces of chocolate after the above conversation. When waiting for payment, I told my hubby that I was not gonna buy other stuff here because I didn’t like the service here in our home language. The lady responded that she knew our language (apparently not as she stated 2 languages) and that she told us the truth but we didn’t like that. That’s was rude as I wasn’t talking to her (I was being polite when talking to her) and no customer needed to be told that you were telling the “truth” which made customers felt like they were wrong! I was telling the truth as well that I dislike the service in this store!!!

Avoid!...

I went to the store in the passage (11am) they were SO NICE and since I didn't wanna carry it on all day I thought on coming back later. I got to this store at 19:10 I was choosing the boxes I would get, at 19:20 I ask the lady to start choosing my chocolates and she already had an attitude, she would answer with sarcasm to any question I asked. She didn't measure in grams as the tag said, I got a big box and 3 small heart they still had room I asked if she could fit one more cause she said before it was 8 and I got 6 and she just move them around and said it could not fit more. She was really nice to my friend (taiwanese) its relevant on the story because she was also really nice to the lady before me (asian) and the lady (taiwanese) after me arrived at 19:58 and it seemed like they were friends bc she attended very welcoming. Oh also at 19:27 she complained that she would not have enough time to pack my boxes and attend the other costumers (group of 3 americans), at 19:47 she told the other costumers to go to the other store they have cause she would not have the time to attend them, they said they would come back and she didn't correct them that she was closing soon. Not a good experience as I had at the store in the passage and the grand place they...

The chocolate I tried was great, but I ended up not buying anything because the employees made me so uncomfortable. I was looking around at the different boxes on the shelf, when the employee behind the register VERY loudly called to me that I wasn't supposed to touch those particular boxes because they are not part of the display. Mind you, nowhere was there a sign that said "do not touch", and there was no clear separation between boxes that were part of the display and boxes that weren't. They were all on the same shelf. Still, the employee told me EXTREMELY loudly and in a patronizing tone, that I'm not supposed to touch them and that it was unhygienic. The whole store was looking at me during her rant that went on for half a minute. She could have just said "please don't touch those boxes" in a calm tone, like a normal person. I don't need to leave my money in a store that treats their customers like this. I ended up going to a different store and had delicious hot...
