Update: ordered ONLINE and there were several things missing from the order! Pay attention to these scammers! Check your order EVERY TIME!

The food is good, but not good enough to ignore the service and lack of planning that should immediately follow a flourishing business. If you cannot handle fame, get out of the game! This is not the first offence, I have noticed a pattern before writing this teriyaki review. Whenever I order online and select the pickup slot I think about it. People are expecting dinner. Usually Makisu is late. Yesterday it was 8 PM and in reality it was twenty minutes late. That is basically the time you would generally like to spare by planning ahead and ORDERING ONLINE! In my order there was a miso soup. I was presented with a bowl that I was supposed to fill myself. After asking where, I fought through a crowd to get to it. There, a mini que for the miso. The lady in front was scouring the last bit of the soup but there was maybe just enough for me when her friend jumped the lie and got the last one (belgian). So, as in Seinfeld:

NO SOUP FOR YOU

I said to my friend, we should leave and get a small beer at the Irish pub and get the soup later, when they refill the bowl. WRONG, when I shared my compromise solution to the waiter she said:

That was the last of the miso for today!

I asked #whattodo and was presented with the option of a wakame salad that grabbed and ran away to have my 🍺 and l go...

Already ate here more than 40 times in the past 3 years. Definitely a place I recommend for good food that isn't too expensive (isn't cheap either IMHO, but good quality for the price paid).

The service is the only thing I can't give 5*... the staff are notoriously exhausted or not motivated, and very often I heard music (or football games) playing from the kitchen that would sometimes be so loud I couldn't hear the restaurant's ambient/radio music... This was super distracting/confusing, but only happened a few times... Management should definitely enforce no music/football in the kitchen, or at least have it at a sufficient low volume so that the guests don't hear it.

The atmosphere/location is very good, and the food quality is good and consistent as well. When living in the Bailli area (almost an entire year), I ate here at least 2-3...

Every village should come with a Makisu. This fast food outlet is part of an ever growing sushi empire and we can all be thankful that the winning formula of fresh, creative and reasonably priced fish creations has also opened here in Chatelain. "Slammin' Salmon" is the perfect take on a classic. However, with success comes popularity and this place is very busy. You can't reserve a table. Consider takeaway and use the sublime online ordering system (another thing that Antoine and his team has gotten spot-on). The vegi options vary in quality and the Donburi can occasionally be a bit dry. But you are unlike to find a better value-for-maki...

The food is definitely delicious and fresh. Teriyaki rice bowl was a bit salty but between five good eaters we tried nearly the whole menu and that was the only disappointment. I was not sure if I should give 4 or 5 stars at first since if you are not early you have to wait for a long time to have your hands on those delicious food but this is their model and looks like it s working for them so prioritizing the taste I decided to give 5 stars. The staff is a pleasant bunch of mostly young people with a great attitude.

The taste itself was good though the roll was quite small but the matter was the service quality. They forgot the miso soup I've already paid and I had to ask them twice. It came only after I finished half of the meal. (I stopped eating and waited until the soup is ready) Miso was at the front desk but the staff just simply forgot. And I couldn't hear any 'sorry' message for the delay. It was my last dinner in Belgium and I don't think I'm gonna come back this country again.

My favorite place to get my Maki! There is a good variety of maki’s and it’s not expensive at all (between 5€ and 6€ for 8 pieces). They are generous with the ingredients whereas most of the time in other sushi places you get really small pieces of salmon or tuna but too much rice! Only downside, there is always a really long waiting line... so two possibilities : you can order online and come pick them up OR try to go to their other restaurant near place sainte Catherine.
